Ok, I've done my digging all over the internet, and got a couple of lousy answers. Then I dug throught the archives here, and didn't get any good answers at all. I must rely on my Vintage Ferrari Brothers. WHERE DO I GO TO GET PARTS FOR A BECKER RADIO FROM THE EARLY 70's. I NEED A NEW AMP...... Becker Grand Prix stereo with the wonder bar. Perfect for my car, but it needs a new amp. I'd also like to find schematics for it. Any suggestions? Thanks, Dave
Tom Yang's site http://www.tomyang.net/cars/ferrari.html Scroll down to radio links Also, FChat wspeer has been helpful before on schematics.
I must be missing it but I can't find the radio link on Tom Yang's site. I'm also looking for info on vintage Blaupunkt radios - I have one but with no wiring and need info on where to find the special wire terminals and which terminals on the back of the radios go for what...
Shamelessly stolen from Tom Yang's site: Radio Repair *Vintage Radio Shop European Auto Radio Specialist Wilford Wilkes, Sr. 101 Swoope St. Box 103 Brisbin, PA 16620 (814) 378-8526 (814) 378-6149 Fax Willy restored my Blaupunkt Radio to beautiful working condition, and he has many others in stock ready to install in your old Ferrari or Porsche. I've also gotten a lot of good response from others who have used his services. I highly recommend him! Another testimonial. Radio Sales Old Auto Radio http://www.oldautoradio.com/ This business is located in Spain, and has a large selection of Blaupunkt Radios and other European models to choose from. He ships internationally for $35 USD, and uses Pay-Pal. Please let me know if you do any business with him, so I can give more information on his services.
I'd suggest going straight to Becker of North America. They sell reconditioned radios, and I would imagine that they could either rebuild your amp, or sell you an as-new one. www.beckerautosound.com --Matt

Interestingly, there is a Becker radio on ebay right now with an amp advertised from a 70's Ferrari Dino...
I emailed the seller of the Becker radio on eBay before seeing this post and asked him if he can repair Becker and Blaupunkt radios (and 8Tracks) and he replied that he can, depending upon the model. Mark
OK, I'm good on this now. Found a repair guy who can change the plug on the back of the radio so that I can plug into a modern amp, which I have in the glove box now. DM
Here's the guy. I'll let you know how it turns out. Precision Stereo Repair 8441 Seneca Turnpike NewHartford,NY.13413 Ph.315-797-5219 http://www.hemmings.com/index.cfm/fuseaction/quicksearch.classifieds/keyword/Precision%20Stereo%20repair
Becker supports their old radios, will fix them and even sell reconditioned period radios. Ed Ebel at Becker U.S. seems in charge of the oldies. (http://www.beckerautosound.com/) (201) 327-3434 / (888) 423-353 Not that cheap, around $600 for an, as new one. As for Blauplunkt, though Tom mentions that fellow in Spain, I don't think any of us from Tom's site have any experience with him actually. I do have experience with: Rainer Koenigs, (011 49 210-244-4441) whose web site (http://www.koenigs-klassik.de/indexe.html) He has, by his reckoning, 10,000 period reconditioned German radios, plus parts, speakers, grills, etc., etc. Both Becker and Blauplunkt. I bought a 1964 Blauplunkt radio from him and he made a cable for me to be able to plug in my iPod into the DIN aux in that was on the back of the radio. Very nice hearing modern music coming out of a mono speaker in my 330GT consol. Yale
This guy restores a lot of Becker radios. I don't know him but his radios seem to be in great reconditioned shape and sell fast. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Restored-Becker-Mexico-Radio-Mercedes-Ferrari-Dino_W0QQitemZ4608871026QQcategoryZ42606QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Thanks for all the great info guys! The idea of playing my ipod through the old Blaupunkt is interesting.
Becker of North America in NJ would be your best bet. The price isnt anywhere near the $600 quoted above. Regular prices for a repair range from 150 - 250 I can give you a number straight to the guy that works on them at becker if you PM me.
http://www.0700carradio.com/ Rather famous company in Germany, they not only repair, restore, and sell classic car radios, but they also change the interiors against modern ones. Classic look, but perfect sound.
MY guy is going to inspect, change the wiring and ship it back for under $100. Becker will provide the amp for $100 plus shipping. I have a nice amp and speaker set up now, so this is really the easiest install. That plus I've sold my existing radio back to my stereo guy for close to what I paid for it. So, all in all, this is the best deal I can make. Dave
Matt & Dave, Do your models still have tubes? Mine is half and half, so it still has that tube radio sound - very cool! Anyone who fixes old radios can fix these as long as they have the parts. Regards, Art S.
All electronics in mine. No tubes. Oh and thanks for the offer on the AMP. I think my solution will work well. dave
