I have a 2005 F430 with 6,500 miles that frequently makes a very low beep beep beep noise at low RPM. It sounds like the beep the car makes when in reverse, but about 1/3 as loud. It doesn´t happen all the time and stops about 3500 RPM. Do any of you have that same noise & any idea what it might be?

Hmmm... I had an 05 430 spider and now have an 07, and the only (extremely irritating) beep I hear is in reverse.

Has your car ever also missed a shift too, ie you downshift via the paddles and it clicks but no down shift ? Has it ever started from a stop, revved but seemed only to roll forward a few feet then 'catch' ? The low beeping is the clutch throwout (release) sensor being polled by the shift computer, the computer indicates that the shifting sequence was not completed within a specified period of time. The computer beeps the beeper but does not display anything to the driver, however it does set a code which the diagnostic computer can read. Usually, this is due to a faulty throwout(release) sensor or a shift position sensor, a simple fix. Sometimes it is a clutch adjustment. Yes, the F1 does have a clutch.

N.B. that there is no indication on the dash, no "slow down", ie clutch overheat display, just the beeping.

I have never had it miss a shift or roll a few feet from a stop and then catch. However, what you say sounds logical and I will take it to the dealer and ask them to check the diagnostic and the throw out bearing sensor. I was at Ferrari of Orange County today getting a new battery in my 575 and mentioned the beeping to the mechanic changing the battery. He had never heard of beeping like that and didn't have any idea what was happening. Thanks for the explanation.

i just figured out that the beep beep was my blackberry phone in my right front pocket. Sometimes when the phone is in my right front pocket in just the right (wrong) position, the keys push against the curve on the right side of the seat when i push on the gas and that makes th phone beep. When I move the phone a little bit or move my foot to the break, the beeping stops.
