Here's a quicky. Will you drink beer straight out of a can (directly, I don't mean pouring the beer in a glass)?

Please forgive my misspells, I'm trying my first poll and and learning the technical stuff.

I agree! Don't mind drinking straight from the bottle, however.

I have no pride. Then again, canned beer isn't affected by light like many bottled beers are.

    Best Temperature to consume beer:
River temperature. Why the best? Because it means you are on the river. Maybe even live in a van...

As the Hank Williams, Jr. song goes, "Why Can't We All Get A Long Neck." Bottled beer is the only way to go. Bud Light is the only way to go. Will drink cans in teeny bars if it's all that's available. Will only drink draft beer if that's all that's available also. For whiskey, I think I can get a "ooh-aah" out of Al Pacino and say that John Daniels is the only way to go there. I only drink that though if I'm trying to get rid of a cold/flu bug. Used to drink the chemistry set in the younger days, but one gets older. Plus I only have one brain cell left, so I have to try to take care of it...

Why Can't We All Get A Long Neck - that's hilarious!
    But, Bud Light? Bleeeeeach

Skunky or Light Struck Odour and Flavour

One of the major problems facing the brewing industry is so called "skunky" odour and flavour. Beer is highly susceptible to light, and we might add, light from any source. In sunlight, the reaction is almost immediate. The ultraviolet part of the light spectrum breaks down the sulphur containing molecules, forming highly odourous mercaptans and other sulphurous compounds. A customer complaint on this subject cannot possibly be mistaken, as a most objectionable odour and flavour is present.

The only answer to a customer complaint on this subject should be one of reassurance, since all beers are susceptible. The beer itself cannot harm anyone. Advise the customer that, in future, protect the bottles from all sources of light at all times.

A surprising fact is that beer in the regular amber bottle will begin to be noticeably "lightstruck" within about two minutes, while beer in a clear glass will begin deteriorating within 30 seconds!

Canned beer should only be drunk at the beach where they have no glass bottle ordinances. That would be all of San Diego Counties beaches :(

WTF? I don't drink at all anymore but I remember what Bud Light tastes like (but up and down). Why would you waste your time and money when out on that stuff? Is John Daniels some kind of libation I am unaware of? If it is that good I must have missed it, or gotten it confused with JACK DANIELS.

As far as draft goes, it really depends on where you go. Choking down warm Budweiser or PBR, I can see the turnoff. Find a nice pint of Guinness or a Black & Tan with Smithfield's Ale and tell me what you think.

    Damn, it's 9 am and I'm thursty...

Can destroys the taste, but at times you may need to rough it, if you are thirsty and a can has been in a ice chest for hours and is ice cold they will do.
