Was doing great until last week. I havent gone back to eating poorly but I havent had any time to work out...I am 3 weeks away from my biggest business event of the year (where I do half my annual sales) and a couple people dropped the bal on me big time so I am doing the work of three people right now. I probably wont be able to get back to my regular workout until July 20th or so.
Just keep at it...can you take 30 minutes to ride a bike? I would definitely MAKE the time, even if it means getting up a few minutes early. I sometimes enjoy taking a bike ride when I haven't in a while. it's kind of a shock to see/feel/hear the world outside of a car. RMX
RMX, you look great! Jerry, I hope you haven't strayed TOO much from your routine. Everyone else, keep up the good work!
our diets are very simple, yet very flavorful. i eat approx 3500 calories a day, 6 meals. lift 4 times week (6-7am). kayak, bike and windsurf when i can. run a 6 minute mile. we eat alot of tuna, salmon for dinner. breakfast is usually our biggest meal, consisting of eggs, homemade turkey sausage and whole wheat pancakes with fruit and honey. we eat alot of plain nonfat yogurt too, blended in shakes. i drink about 200ml of water a day and try to get in 180mg of protein a day. i'm 6'4 and 1/2, and weigh approx 200lbs. my wife is 5'3 and approx 110lbs. and yes thats our 3 year old child that she had naturally, how about those abs?? personally, i would like to add 10-15lbs of lean muscle, but i work out solo, so its hard to add the weight. those are easy. 12oz skim milk, 2/3 cup plain nonfat yogurt, 1 frozen banana, chocolate whey protien powder scoop, cup of fiber one cereal(gotta have fiber!), 2 cubes of ice. blend it up. makes for a hefty shake, but i promise you wont be jonesing for anything else for a while. also eat 3 cups of plain oatmeal a day, just add milk, cinammon, and a dash of brown sugar and microwave for 1 minute, keeps you full also.
Thanks for the recipe as I have been experimenting with MetRx shakes since '90 but have never tried adding yogurt. I have dropped down from 225lb's to 205lb's over the last three months strictly by adjusting my food/calorie quality and intake portion with no workout except isometrics. Today I had my first workout at a gym in 15yr's and worked my bi's, tri's and shoulder's strictly as an initiation. Feel's really good to be back and get a huge pump after all that time, I love muscle memory!!!! Good health to everyone, tex
excuse me, you are correct, and i never even picked that up. i mean 200 ounces. yeah, 200ml's isnt even 7 ounces, body would shrivel up like that.
haha...when I read 200ml I looked over at my 32oz water bottle and scanned to the bottom where 200ml is and starting laughing. I consume somewhere around 130oz of straight water...if you include OJ and milk for my protein shake I'm probably around 200oz too.
Been a slow and lazy summer (dinner last night was pizza, followed by popcorn and gummy bears at Bruno) but my back is starting to taper which I am super happy about...
Fantastic! Keep it up Cameron A lot of progress since your first post here Definitely great inspiration for others to keep it up
Damn!!!!!!! You look fantastic dude! I couldn't believe what I was looking at - total transformation! Amazing work - how much weight have you gained?
Thank you guys, it means a lot! I probably put on 10lbs of muscle since I started. Not good, not bad.
Last week, I got back from vacation (managed to do some good workouts while on vacation; and only gained 4 lbs during that time. (up to 243 again). I now am well under 240 at a solid 236-237. Goodbye 240; it was nice while it's lasted [too long] Nearing 50 lbs down I can actually see a couple of veins in my arms... haven't seen those since grade school. Unfortunately, my weight is very evenly distributed; so it's difficult to see small results like 5 and 10 lbs even. Another 40ish, and the results will speak for themselves. Hopefully I can continue this loss rate for a while. (BTW, I've taken alcohol 100% out of my diet now for a while, and I think now that is affecting my body thoroughly and positively.) The main difference I think is my diet was more lax while north; and workout wasn't quite on que. I had a swimming/ rowing / push up regimen. I enjoyed the rowing so much, I'm thinking of craiglisting a rowing machine... any recommendations on a particular machine? Some range from 25$ - 200+ I'll post a photo at a solid 50 lbs lost. It's going to be a long time before I'm happy to add 10 lbs LOL.
Crappy pic's but for documentation purpose's I'll set aside my fragile ego LOL! As I had mentioned earlier I have dropped from 225lb's to a semi-solid 205lb's strictly from a nutrition aspect. I started back at Gold's Gym this past Monday and have already noticed a slight change and will transform myself by Sept 14th which is when I start the police academy at the UoH. Thank's for the support and for a thread in which we can all proudly contribute too. Me back in '95.
When did you start? The only reason I ask is because to truelly add 10lb's of lean muscle mass take's atleast a year or two as the norm is a solid 5lb's per year if your lucky. You look great and I'm not trying to take away from that at all it's just that I know the difference between being pumped and true lean body mass. Once again you are making great progress so keep up the good work as your progress is very motivating.
I started last October so it's been about 9 or 10 months (thought I've deviated from my routine on numerous occasions). 10lbs was just an estimate as I haven't stepped on a scale in months and I just use the mirror to gauge my progress. Regardless, I look at other pictures of myself from a couple of years back and the difference is night and day. I'm still not even close to reaching any of my goals (I'd love to be a lean 190 which is probably 2 years away) but I've learned a ton about myself throughout the whole process, so it's been more than worth it. I only post these pictures on this forum because I know there's a ton of people that lurk here and want to change themselves but either find themselves in a rut or don't think it's possible. I used to be one of those guys; I thought my physique didn't allow for change - flabby gut, narrow shoulders, wide hips/waist, tiny legs. Good luck everyone!
Heck you could have actually put on 10lb's of muscle mass because some people are just gifted with that sort of body type. Anyway keep up the good work bro and best of health to you. Gregg
Rarely am in front of the camera; but here's one from today with a few friends after giving a tour of "the sultan's" collection. I'm in the middle. It's nice to not be filling out my clothes like I used to ... need a haircut already. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hey everyone, it's been 5 months since my last update. Met a super cute girl, fell out of lifting. I regret slacking off but now I'm coming back to this thread. I'm not in that bad of shape, but I'm not where I was in January. I signed up at a gym that's near my house. I weighed in at 185 (up from 179) and my lifts aren't that bad. I'm going to bust my ass to give you guys a decent update picture.
Here they are. Most likely FerrariChat's biggest loser? Obviously the top is the BEFORE picture. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
All the obvious things. The most important is daily exercise. Lot's of it. One hour minimum of cardiovascular exercise. Then add lifting weights 3-4 days per week. Modify what I eat. This is a two year effort so far. Obviously a lifetime commitment. This thread, especially that remix guy were quite an inspiration to keep going so I figured it was time to contribute.
