Starting to prowl the net, classic car mags etc for Daytonas to keep an eye on values, and then spot this. Not a Ferrari, but another favourite of mine.

I'm sure I can only get one answer on here, but does anyone have any experience and views? Lot slower, but a class motor...

Similar prices in the UK - wondering how that might hold up later too.

Have included a Daytona snap for the hell of it too.

Look Great. Great interiors. Make sure you have the factory supplied tow chain in the boot. When they work they are interesting but vintage drivers.
IMO a Daytona is much more usefull as a car.

You must replace the factory supplied tow-chain as they tend to break when used on a regular basis. Seriously though, it is a beautiful car.

They are beautiful, interesting and fun. But they are also everything Napolis said too.

Well, an Aston Martin is as much of a statement as a Daytona. It's up to you what kind of a statement you want to make.

I believe that's a DB4GT. If so, it'll be quite a bit more "wedge" than a Daytona. (Thought the Britishism might be appropriate here). It looks like the Daytona's at Paul Baber's place in London.

    Murf,

I graduated from an MGB to an E-Type, then to an Aston Martin, then to Ferrari. Moving from the first to the second and to the third felt like moving up in the zip codes. But moving to the last one was like moving to a whole different land.

The British sportscars charming though they may be, they all have one large flaw: COMPROMISE. Compromise in the interest of profit. You cannot say that about Ferrari. Ferrari sold road car so he could race. William Lyons raced so he could sell road cars. This is why a 250 GTE is damned close to a 250 GTO under the skin, but an XK-120 is a far cry from a C-Type.

When I remember my Aston Martin I remember truck like gearbox and differential, a low revving engine, marginal electricals and an anachronistic appearance.

    Get the Daytona!
