    Interesting.

    How would such an aircraft be better than a surveilance drone?

    Also were the WB57 rewinged regular planes or purpose built in that configuration?

    They were built by Martin as variants; different wings, different engines, no armament or bomb bay.
    Only a couple dozen or so of the 400 or so.

    C-17, A-10's and C-130 operating off a dry lake bed.
