Got this last Saturday and took it to New York With me. It works great and really helped. I used full res on my camera (can't remember size) but each pic was about 1.7mb. I only took 1 128mb memory stick. I filled the stick, put in in the Reader and the images are transferred.

    Pros:

Easy to use, supports most media, firewire,

Good design (flap to prevent dust and dirt getting into the ports and the wire folds away.

    Cheap (considering what you get)

2 year guarentee at comp usa. Covers anything but intentional damage, no questions asked. extra $18)

    Takes regular AAA batteries

    Cons:

Bigger than expected (doesn't really matter),

Speed. although it is one of the quickest ways to transfer, the firewire is slow. I'd reconmend using a 128mb memory stick and not anything higher. I filled mine up and each transfer took about 5-8 mins. Not bad considering it is 128.

Layout: when i post pics you will see what i mean. The front of it is facing forward meaning to see the light on the front that signals the battery life and whether it is transferring or not is on the other side. ie. to see it you have to turn your ipod around. Also, it has to go side to side with the ipod, you have to really bend the wire to make it go behind the ipod. This means it is a 2 hand job unless you are sitting down.

Instructions. I'll post a pic and you'll also see what i mean. I know computers luckily, if you don't you probably won't have a clue how to get the pix onto the computer. Does tell you to go to see the instructions of the application you are using to transfer them if you get stuck.

Overall, i love this. I can theoretically take about 11gb of pix whenever i go somewhere and then re-take another 11gb the next day (assuming i can get to the computer). I think this will be a lifesaver when i go to lime rock vintage racing. I highly reconmend getting it if you have an ipod (with dock connector) and are getting fustrated when you run out of room on your memory sticks.

1 more thing. Kinda important. At first it usually doesn;t recognise the card is in (the ipod doesn't recognise it). I'm not sure if this is the type of card (its lexar as opposed to sony) but it can be annoying to keep pressing select and sometimes unpugging and plugging it back in just to make it work. I don't mind as long as it works, some of you may.

pics soon. i need to resize them

Pretty good idea - I might not want the extra step between my camera and laptop, but it would be more convenient for all-day shoots like you said. How much did it cost you?
