My car goes into Competizione this fall for its 30K belt service. There are a few things I'm going to do while the engine is out such as powder coat the valve covers but wanted some suggestions from the group here on any other things you did or wish you had done when the engine is out? BTW, I already polished the pumpkin cover on the back, have Hyperflo's and a Tubi. Knock on wood, the headers still seem to be fine. I wanted to give myself plenty of time in case one of the suggestions requires ordering or fabrication.

    Thanks!

Order the Amp connector boot and pin kit from Dave Helms. Great time to replace all the rotted boots with top quality replacements, and new gold plated connectors.

Get his silicone coolant hose kit too.

Depending on the condition of the plug wires, consider ordering replacements from Kingsborne.

You probably want to use Hill Engineering tensioners instead of stock. I think that they are included in the Ricambi rebuild kit.
Also, some rebuild the water pump (search for less than $100 by a magician in Mississippi) while they're in there.
If you haven't had the valve guides done, this is the time.
If you haven't had your headers done, now is the time. Ricambi has QV headers in stock, I believe...
    Heat shields.
    Check CVs, electrical connections, grounds...

Then drive it like ya stole it!!

The 5.2 set we had was sold today. Another set is due to arrive in about 5-7 days. We have a 2.7 inbound also.

Having said that, OP has aftermarket manifolds, so I certainly hope he's not needing new ones (again)!

Great suggestions on the amp connector and hose kit and will definitely add that to the list. In talking with Fernando at Competizione, they use Hill Engineering whenever they can so they had that on the list.

Thanks and keep the great ideas coming!
