Hello. I noticed a pretty noticeable belt squeal yesterday when I backed my car out cold. It then went away. I did some searching and there are some posts regarding possible loose belt or tensioner going bad. Problem is, I had the belt and tensioner replaced about 200 miles ago due to tensioner failure. The shop mentioned belt was a bear to put on and now very tight. I felt the belt and there is maybe an inch of movement. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Often new accessory belts (Alternator and A/C compressor) stretch a bit with the initial break in period. Hopefully you'll find one is a little slack and a quick tightening will put things right.

Thank you very much for the reply. If I need to make an adjustment do you happen to have some instructions for me? Thanks again!

Probably an alternator belt check it to see how loose it is. Look up in the sticky section about alternator replacement it gives all the descriptions.
