i don't know ANYTHING about that site BUT i do know that they make their living seling radar stuff. Valentine only distributes directly, so they don't sell Valentine, so they have a vested interest in bashing them.

maybe the beltronics IS the best thing since sliced bread - i surely do not know. but the fact that they bash something they don't (and can't) sell isn't surprisng and may be data.

Valentine is by far the best.

I have owned every detector and system made in the last 20 years. The original Escort and Passport were wonderful. The Valentine takes those units a step further.

Every BEL I have owned has been a mediocre unit. All of the new Escort products have been subpar compared to the Valentine. All of the K40 systems installed in various Corvettes and Porsches have been an absolute waste of money, including the silly diffuser that mounts around the license plate.

Don't waste your money, buy the Valentine.

Ferrarichat is the unofficial sponsor for Valentine 1. Everyone is going to tell you V1 is where it's at.

I use a Beltronics because a majority of the revenue departments here are sold on the Stalker Dual. The Bel picks them up very well.

The following link is an independant testing group, nobody has them in their pocket.

    Great link!

I read the whole site, and what an informative read it was. From their unbiased tests it looks like the Bell STI is the detector to have.

The girls on that site look very similar to Hooter Girls for some reason.

Seems it depends what local law enforcement is using would dictate the best detector, I have not used a detector in years but it would come in handy as I was driving though Valley of Fire yesterday in my 355 and there were several speed traps with rangers, then having them follow me for awhile then pass get a few miles ahead then flip a U turn and come back the opposite way again trying to get me, all things being equal the Valentine looks great but more than double the price is a bit of a rip IMO unless it gives a significant performance advantage which does not appear to be the case.

If you google "Carl Fors" you will find some info about the guy. He seems to be pretty respected, but OTOH I noticed that the main reason for his website appears to be selling books and newsletter subscriptions.

I also notice that he said nothing but positive things about *all* the detectors he reviewed.

Personally, I think the dual antennas and the directional arrows make the V1 the best choice-- maybe not the cheapest, but the best. Of course, most of the time I don't bother with it-- only for long freeway trips do I find it useful.
