My son also had money scammed by some Paki kunt using the Bendigo bank who refused to do anything

I believe this shjt bank is being used as a shelter for these scammers and now that I'm fully retired will track these kunts down and ****ing shoot them

The first world does NOTHING to stop this shjt, $3.1B stolen from vulnerable people in Australia last year, and that's only the reported scams !!

I was scammed last xmas, very small amount but it was the shjt way these Chinese kunts did it, I ordered a watch for Neralee, they send me a $2 scarf, I reply that I was sent the wrong item, they reply they will give me a 60% refund after I send the scarf back but gave no address ..... red light thieving Chinese arseholes

This is happening all the time and because the amounts are relatively insignificant it doesn't get reported and the AFP are not interested, the banks allow these criminals to continue (the Bendigo bank sent me emails "saying" they would sort this but did nothing even after repeated attempts by me to get my sons money back AND them being given the account number that was being used to commit this fraud along with the prick that stole the money)

Anyone using the Bendigo bank needs to be aware that you are dealing with an unscrupulous institution

I hope this bank collapses and burns in hell

Errm John there is zero in the written report that indicates that the accompanying video has anything to do with the piece. This is very common with News.com
There is also nothing in the written report to indicate ANY nationality is involved.

I'm sorry you and Troy have been tickled up with you situation BUT you can't go around accusing folk who possibly have zip to do with the situation.

As for buying Chinah crap on line well GLWT,I sooo try not to buy anything from that joint.

Simon, Nigeria/India/China/Russia/Pakistan etc are all shjt countries allowing their people to rip people off

Being IT illiterate you may not understand that they can steal ALL of your money in the blink of an eye, LITERALLY !!

My ex was the IT manager for Dept of Housing NSW many years ago and "should" be smart enough to be aware of the current scams but only last month she was stupidly allowing someone onto her computer to "help" sort out a form

Luckily Troy saw what she was about to do and pulled the plug on the internet

It takes less than a second for scammers to run a script that will find out your financial institutions, get your login credentials and empty, or withdraw the maximum daily amount from your bank

Clicking on a link in an email from scammers will give away your personal information but if you look at the email account the email was sent from you should be able to deduct if it is really the institution you deal with, normally the email address will be obviously a fake as the address is unintelligible but the ones you really have to be careful about are the ones where the email address is VERY close to the actual company's name, eg, [email protected]0m.au

Banks will NEVER ask you to verify credentials, nor the govt, or several others but people get caught ALL the time clicking on the link and getting sent to a website that will only capture your personal information

I didn't care about the insignificant money the Chinese scammed out of me but the $300 Troy lost meant more to him than most so I gave it to him

Are we so scared of upsetting people now that we just sit in a corner waiting to be fleeced ?

Maybe you haven't had all of your files for business encrypted by those Russian hackers , holding you to ransom until you give them anywhere between $200-2000 to send you the encryption key

    https://www.afp.gov.au/news-centre/media-release/russian-led-hacking-group-disrupted-australian-businesses-regain-access

I have tried to help most of my neighbours as they are small business people that these scum prey on and have only succeeded in a few cases if they either kept backups or enabled mirroring in their operating system

So I named a few countries out there, so what , f*ck them, their govts are weak as piss allowing these individuals to smear their country's name, do something about !!!

John I'm talkin' about the News .com report.
There is zero reference in the article to the video and there is zero reference in the News.com written report to indicate who/where the scam was initiated.

Bendigo Bank is owned by someone else. IIRC NAB.

The biggest surprise I got was a few years ago Banks are only forced to guarantee max $250,000 in your account. You can lose anything above that.

I don't care really, we all know where the scammers come from, scumbags Russian encryption bastards, Indians posing as Microsoft support or Telstra engineers, Nigerian princes, etc etc etc

Isolate them from the internet, China can do it and they're one of the main culprits !!!

I work with a lovely Pakistan software engineer but I had to reconfigure my company's network so that we could isolate him from the rest of our servers to protect our IP software even though he was being paid by the company to write our NextGen software o_Oo_Oo_Oo_O

Bottom line here is that all this "talk" about protecting the kids from themselves and perverts is impossible and we have to personally protect them as parents

My boy knows all too well the issues that can come of not being wary enough AND he was raised with PCs, phones, programming, networking, etc and he can still be scammed

Banks don't actually guarantee anything - it is a government guarantee...
