    Guys, I owned a 4 post Backyard Buddy and loved it but hated the squeezing between the rails and the rear rails being in the way. I sold it when I moved and now find myself in need of a new lift.

    I like the theory behind the Bendpak 7000X because it eliminates the rear posts. I plan to store my 458 underneath and store my 512bbi on the top and dont intend to need access under the lift for maintenance since I am tech illiterate on these cars....

    I like the BYB better. The 2 post is going to most likely result in many inadvertant door dings. You still have to drive between posts, it just puts them in a more inconvenient place.

    I saw that also. The doors open right where the posts are. So, how does one get in and out?

    Not truly in the way of much but, in a perfect world, two posts or one post would be better than four. I understand the other poster's concern regarding door access. I hadn't noticed that.

    So, is the one post a better option?

    One posts are kinda scary to me. I like this Bendpack you linked to if you are only going to use it for parking (as opposed to working on it). As to the door issue, I'd call Bendpack and see if there's one near you to look at. I would be surprised if they didn't take that into consideration with their design.

    I had my skepticisms for one-post lifts, until I got my Bend-Pak 6000X. It's been three years and it's been totally reliable. Sure, it moves a bit, but it's a parking lift and once it's loaded up, it serves its purpose quite well. Having only one post and mounting it on the opposite side of the driver's door makes it the best parking lift I've got in a tight space.

    Just make sure your concrete is the right specification, and you'll love it. Remember it's a parking lift ...

    It scares me that you say it moves a bit. Meaning moves while the cars are loaded showing flex in the lift?

    It SHOULD NOT move. Even if it is a bit.
    So you mean there is a possibility of disaster?

    I am not sure what the BYB specs are, or if they offer multiple sizes, but I got a similar lift from aclifts.com (the Titan SUV) and it is available in wide and tall column spacing. I have never really worried about squeezing it between the rear posts, but the widest thing I ahve put on the lift is a Honda Odyssey minivan. I still think the BYB is your best bet. I just think they should change the name!
