With pleasure, I grew out of the attempted toilet humour I read here on the Aussie forum at about 12 years of age. Nothing to be gained by staying. My point was you simply wasted my time reading a topic of interest which contained almost NOTHING on topic!. Count the "intelligent" posts on-topic the Aussie Forum and you'd be surprised how few you'd each score. Probably less than mine..... So; score your points with your childish sycophantic 'friends' on here by all means, but please, just know you make a mockery of the greater F-Chat purpose and impress and inform no-one outside your sad little clique.
Out of this sad little clique,sunshine,have been made some very serious friendships. A large group of us meeting annually and sometimes more regularly than that,for huge amounts of fun times. Oh,and most of us have filled in our profiles with personal details.I'll edit that,since the new format the profile page has changed so I'll take that comment back. On yer bike.......hope the other motorists watch out as you peddle away.

Why would I want one ? Was offered a Bentley from a friend for about 1/10th the new price ..... was still too much !!! I drove one through Surfers a few years back ..... the only car where you can watch the fuel gauge move !!!! Same day I drove it the local Aston dealer bought out the latest Vantage to Tedder to impress the local crowd only for the thing to break down in front of the bakery shop and had to get a flat top to take it back to the dealership Only one of my 3 Ferraris ever needed flat top, the GT4 when the fuel pump stopped working
Oh yes, the good old prince of darkness left my MG stranded on the road from Wagga to Sydney at least twice from memory ...... the alternator was dragging on the ground going through Yass in '75 before the bypass was built

Fascinating thread, which I had not seen before. I know it's mostly history now, but I can't resist responding to this particular comment. Unlike C and D types, the E-type was not designed for racing, but it still won the first race in which it was entered, only a month after it was first unveiled, ahead of an Aston DB4GT and two Ferrari 250GTs. Not to mention a 4th. at Le Mans the following year. Not bad for a "rubbish race car". As the owner of an E-type, Bentley and two Ferraris, and a 911, all I can say is that I love them all. They all have their pros and cons, but they are all a delight to own and drive, for different reasons and on different occasions. Happy New Year to all you guys Down Under!
