I am thinking about getting my wife a Bentley. It is her favorite car, and since she is pregnant with twins, I thought it would be a nice gift when the babies are born. I was hoping you guys could share any good or bad experiences you have had. I will be looking at 01 and 02's. Thanks in advance.

    LA for now,NJ really
twins? Don't you mean a minivan.. I'm just joking.. I was looking into bentleys but heard they were a headache to maintain.. that's why you don't see so many with a lot of mileage. Then again, if you live close to a bentley dealership and don't mind the expenses.. why not? A guy I work with had an older bentley that was just in an accident, a guy in a pickup fell asleep on the highway and slammed into him... the bentley was totaled but the guy swore it saved his life.

    Congrats.

No personal experience except they are stunning cars, which you know already. Look at this thread http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=497 and contact the starter jeff_m, he will probably be a good help because of his own ownership. :)

Good Luck, and post pics when you get it.

Since we're talking about two newborns and a wife here, what are the crash test ratings on Bentleys...? Are they safe...? What kind of Bentley are you looking for...? From what i understand, an '03 BMW 5 series is one of the safest things out there...

    Warren,

The cars he is looking at are a lot more reliable compared to the older cars-pre 99. I would highly recommend an Arnage Red Label or Arnage T. The scheduled services are every one year or 10000 miles. And contrary to popular belief, the newer cars you can drive and put a lot of miles on them. We have two customers with >20k on Arnage T's with no major issues, just mainly scheduled maintenance. If you need more info, please feel free to contact me.

Jeez, I thought if your paying 200K for a sedan the thing would last 500K like the big old Mercedes', 20K shouldn't even be broken in yet.

I have a 2000 Red Label and love it. No real issues to speak of yet but I only have 9k miles. It is a very heavy solid car but doesn't nearly feel as large as it is while driving it. Don't believe the hype about it being a maitinence nightmare. 2000 and later cars are just fine. As far as for the wife, mine isn't allowed to drive it but she loves to ride in it!
