Gorgous Black Bentley GT spotted goin south on I94 on Wisconsin/Illinois Border near Great America and RT41... Anyone from the board. ? Looked stunning on the highway to bad the weather sucked.. Like always.
I saw a Grey one cruising along Meyers Rd. in Lombard a couple weeks ago. I think it looked nice, but, not the fastback design....Looks like a Chrysler Crossfire which is about 1/5 the price.
Yah I dont care for the rear that much but I love the front the quad projector headlights and the grill. And the W12 is so smooth, its a great vehical even with all the audi/vw involvement bs people keep talking about.
Oh,I definitely like it. From the front,as it is coming towards you,it looks great! And,yeah, the performance is Fantastic. But,as it passed by,and I looked again in my rear View Mirror,I thought it looked like a Crossfire. I will definitely check it out in detail next month when the Auto Show hits town. I guess that it just takes me some time to adjust to some new model cars. I didn't like the Rear End of the C5 Corvette when it first came out either....And,I was not alone. Alot of others felt the same. But,as time wore on,I grew accustomed to it. Now,it's getting used to the "Non Flip Up" Headlights on the C6.... (No,I like 'em)
I have to admit that the first time I saw one, it was like "Is that a....? Wait. No, it's....um, hold on....yeah, IT IS...I think..." I guess it's just a familiar-looking shape, but it's nice.
We went to Monterey this past summer. When we pulled into town, the gas station across the street had 5 GTs gassing up. They were all over the penninsula, most with dealer plates. I think every one in the country at that time were there for the festivities. They are kind of cool... but $160K worth of cool? Could, for that price, get a new Elise, a slightly used 911, AND the new vette.
I agree, from the front in certain pics boy does it look sharp: smooth, tight, agressive nose. But I have seen a few on the road and have not been impressed at all. To me it looks bulky, not as slick as the old pre-war cars that looked like it was quite a thrill to go fast. This thing is supposed to be a 205-8 mph ( Evo and CAR mags ) car but it looks like a Pheaton mated with a cheesy 1980s Lincoln Mark 7. For the price of a slightly used 575, I wouldnt be hoping for as much wild looks rather something a little more sleek and not so heavy gas guzzling water logged warped box. That being said, for some reason I love the imposing new Roller ( its owned by BMW not VW? ) which a lot of the pure Roller drivers do not. RocketBoy
I think they're decent looking in pictures... but a bit of a disappointment up close, IMO. To me it just doesn't look like a $160k car in the flesh. I saw a black one cruising around in the Orland Park area on a nice day when I had the Elise out a little over a month ago... the driver definitely didn't appear to be a "car guy". I also saw a yellow TR and a yellow 355 on the same day. I gave the driver of the TR a friendly thumbs up but he appeared to ignore me. The 355 driver and I exchanged smiles and nods at a red light. It was funny since I usually only see 1 or 2 Ferraris in the area in any given year, and I saw 2 and a GT in the same day. I've seen the guy in the 355 a few more times since then... I'm guessing he just purchased it recently.
True but this is not a sports car its a GT.. Comfortable, Prestigious, Gobs of power from the 6.0L Bi-turbo W12. Some may argue its not worth 160k because of VW's and Audi's involvement and what not but its still a bentley. The styling is opinion based on person. I happan to love it but the rear could be changed. I would get one in Silver with black interior and factory chrome wheels.
Good point. Now that you mention it, ditto for the guys I saw driving theirs'. I think the typical "car guy" would spend $160K much differently. The Bentley, on the other hand, merely provides another "different" car for a moneyed guy to spend his cash on and feel unique.
