After getting up and driving to work for the past 20odd years at 5:30am recently in any number of 2 seat Ferraris or even on motorbikes I have decided approaching 50 I would like to get driven a couple of those days.
So I started my hunt for a nice car which I could fall asleep in the back of - I looked at BMW 760l, nice but not special. Maybach again nice but very functional. Rolls - even at 50 I am too young and honestly the looks put me off.
I then turned my attention to Bentley and specifically the Mulsanne - still hand built in Crewe. I never though of myself as a Bentley man and the looks of the Mulsanne are divisive - some haters - some lovers - although I would say the new face lift isn't really my cup of tea. So after having a look at the outside I sat in the inside - what a wonderful place to sit, the craftsmanship in the interior is without par. So with my mind made up Bentley it was the salesman happened to mention we have an EWB in stock would you like to have a seat in that, well that was it as soon as I sat in it I loved it. I didn't pull the trigger for a couple of weeks thinking this is silly but found myself having dreams about the car - weird I know but humour me.
Well this weekend I put the deposit down and made her mine - now all I need to do is find a driver. Seriously sumptuous motor, sitting in the back is akin to sitting in a pvt jet.
Also very good price being 7 mths old, 5k miles and almost 40% off list.
I cant wait to get it home and added to my garage, I think I am more excited about this than the 488 spider and 812 I have coming this year.

Sweet! But as someone turning 50 this year, don't give up on the 2 seater Ferraris either! Still a lot of bark in us "old dogs"!!! ;)

I hear you and the garage has 5 of the 2 seaters in it with another 2 on the way this year, I just feel sometimes I want to sleep in the back and be driven 5am departures are tough 4 days a week.

Great choice. I got our 2017 Mulsanne Speed in August and have been using it as the daily driver since... over 6,000 miles in almost 6 months. It feels so handbuilt and is absolutely brilliant everywhere.

love that picture of the Mulsanne on the track! So I need a chauffeur who used to be a racing driver, you think we could do a lap without spilling the champers in the back?
