Toying with buying either a used Bentley Flying Spur (2009, ~16k miles) vs a RR Ghost (2010, ~16k miles).

Both are of course gorgeous, same dealer.
RR obviously is quite a bit more pricey (~$195k vs ~$125k).
Drove both yesterday and while Bentley was fantastic, when I got behind the wheel of the RR it immediately felt more special, and drove better as well.

Collecting thoughts from people who have experience here; reliability, repairs, cache, pricing, etc...

    Many thanks!

    Thanks.
What about the Ghost turned you off?

On DR there are a couple nice looking Bentley Brooklands....any thoughts about those? I love the style of the Brooklands.

    Thanks again.

The Ghost feels like a boat and i hated the stares. It's just not me.It's also overpriced IMHO.
If you want a real drivers car that feels like you got real value, in terms of quality, for your money.Go with the Spur.
Make sure to drive anything other than the Spur for more than just a test drive.Drive anything else for at least 60 miles before you buy it.
You can just go buy the Spur without even driving it :)

Good info...I've been eyeing Spurs for a while to replace my M5. I'm just concerned that it may not handle as well or drive as sporty as the M5?

FS is getting old... and there are more of them on the market, easier to get a good deal, worse for the resale value. Brooklands is the 2door coupe... it's the last of the old ones. And it's gorgeous.

If you haven't decided yet, I'd say Bentley. There's something a bit more refined and understated about the brand as a whole

Tough choice (except when it comes to the price)...

I am a Maserati guy (Quattroporte owner) and I am wondering if you looked into purchasing a QP. No current sedan is as sexy and gorgeous as a QP. The powertrain is wonderful and the sound is out-of-this world. It's also exclusive and prestigious (and less expensive than the other models while being better and sexier than them overall).

I prefer the look of the Ghost by far compared to the Bentley (the Spur is too bland in my opinion, not like the Continental that has such a presence on the road). I cannot comment on the feelings when driving (only drove 1 of the 2).

Yes. Looking forward to this new model that will replace the current QP. Bigger, still super sexy and gorgeous I 'm sure (that's a Maserati trait for years now), more powerful engine (built at the Ferrari factory as usual, the 4-door Ferrari). And certainly less expensive than a Bentley and a RR while offering such an awesome package.

The current QP is an awesome car, a classic car. If the OP has not made its choice yet, I think it's worth looking into a QP. And he can get a brand new 2012 after some discounts.

No contest between a Spur and a QP: the QP wins by far in my book (the Spur is so bland I cannot see myself in one).

The Ghost would be my choice (design, prestige, powertrain, interior, ...) if the decision is between a Ghost and a Spur. The Ghost and Spur have high performances but they are not handling like top sports car (QP is a true sports car/sedan).
