I did a site search and NOBODY had anything good to say about them. The post were from a few months ago buteveryone seemed pretty adamandt that they suck.

I've been talking to a salesrep named Ogden there about a red/beige 430 they had. I was ready to fly up last weekend from DC and close the deal, Ogden calls an tells me a dealer beat me to it. My radar goes off.

Now he says he found an identical F430, but offered me an 06 for $248K. The 05 was $237.

Quick question, are they still as bad as they were a few months ago?

  2. Most Likely, how many miles did these cars have on them?

Bentley Gold Coast is pretty reputable. ask for Gino, he is top notch. most of the inventory there is extremely high-line....Enzo's, Carrera GT's, Aston Martin's, etc. in reference to the F430's, most are extremely low-mileage cars that have been flipped, the same that you would find at other authorized dealers.

Are you saying that BGC is an authorized Ferrari dealer?

I would also like to disagree with your assertion that they are "pretty reputable".

IMHO, they are hanging their collective little toes over the line of clear-cut criminality, in many of their dealings.

Surely NOT the people that I would want to deal with, in any matter!

    JT,

BTW, here's a Rossa/Nero 430 at a Chicago area dealer that any of us, I believe, would recommend.

Please don't make comments like this when you have no idea what you're talking about! FYI: Gino doesn't even work at the one downtown. Of course most of their inventory is highline.... that's why they're a BENTLY dealer, duh!
And also, you mean their "extremely low-mileage cars that have been rolled " or sat in a body shop for a while. We'll see how long they'll be an "Authorized" dealer. You'd be surprised at how many junks slip in under the radar.

carlagio, looks like you've had some bad experiences with BGC. i'm on my third car from them, an 05 BMW 645i which i bought from Gino last week. so, as far as i know, Gino is still there. as far as the roll backs, i can't argue with you because i don't have factual proof. my previous 2 cars were brand new and the 645 with 6,000 miles.

I think they advertise cars that they do not have, to get you to call. Now, they do have a huge inventory of MB, BMW, etc. They probably figure they will have a near identical car within weeks of the advertisement.

Lots of stories here on F-Chat about the car agreed upon suddenly not being there, "but, hey, here is another car...."

What happend in someone elses deal doesn't mean much in yours. As long as you take the correct steps you are fine. The car you are looking at is almost new so there shouldn't be any issues. Go to the dealer in person, have the car checked out by a third party and do the transaction. Don't leave anything open that could go wrong. If you are going to ship it home, make those arrangements on your own as well and deliver the car to the shipper while you are in town. Many deals go south because people leave things open that the dealer "promises" and never follows through with such as "title in hand", "service record will be sent later","books will be mailed",etc. Don't leave anything to chance and you should be fine.

    hello,

i was in bentley gold coast showroom last saturday afternoon (11/05/05) and a red/tan f430 was there. salespeople were courtious, and the inventory was very hi-end. i think its their dealership in downers grove, illinois "luxury motors" that gets the most bashing on f-chat

i've been there too. it's kind'a like a outlet mall for hi(er) end cars with like a gazillian bmw's wedged bumper-to-bumper in their parking lot. some title issues have been their perverbial thorn in their side.

i havent heard any complaints from bentley goald coast. it's a stunning facility, and with a ferrari enzo, bentley azure and porsche carrera gt in the showroom, i don't think they are selling junk.

so there you go. bentley gold coast appears to be what a bentley dealership in downtown chicago should be. i think it's their "sister" dealers that have issues.

    just my $0.02

    joe

p.s. my porsche was purchased from their franchise a few years back with no regrets.

BGC and LM are one and the same, and I would never buy an exotic from them. They try to impress with a flashy enviornment and super exotic cars on display, of which many are on consignment and available to any and all the exotic dealers in the area. You can call and ask about the cars, and 9 times out of 10, you will know A LOT more about the car than any of the salespeople. And good luck getting an actual mileage that reads anywhere close to what they advertise. After they let their staff abuse the cars as demos, they are as good as junk. Has anyone else ever sat outside on Rush St. eating dinner, only to hear tires screeching, and gears grinding, and then notice their dealer plate on the car???? Yeah....I want THAT car.

The 'flashy' environment, at least in Downers Grove, is quite annoying with the monotonous thud of a bass drum from dance music pounding all day long, coupled with the attitude of 'I sell so many cars I don't need your business'. I've said this before, but I had no problems when I bought my Porsche 996 from them, although it was high pressure. Now that I've gotten rid of it (through Continental which ended up back at LM), I am having some issues collecting the balance from them of my prepaid extended warranty, haven't heard back from them in a while....

I know of the staff personally and they always used to take out the Lambo's and Ferrari's for a night out. I would come out of a club, and there would be 2 or 3 of theirs parked. Very, very shady people.

We need to get Pam Zekman (sp?) on their collective ass. It'd be fun to watch her 4' frame amble in with a camera crew into the showroom, and watch all the salespeople flee like greasy cockroaches.
