    Hi:

    I received two tickets by the Palisades Interstate Police in Alpine NJ this morning. One for disregarding a stop sign and another for not having my headlights on with my wipers.

    Two questions: 1. Is the no headlights tix a no point violation? 2. how many points does the failure to stop carry? 2pts?

    I have a perfect record before this stop. Any suggestions how to handle this? Just go to court and plea bargain?

    Here's the kicker - I wasn't even driving the Ferrari. I was in a Jeep Liberty...

    Just found out that in order to plea bargain you have to sit through the entire intial court proceedings. Afterwards, all the not-guiltys' form a line to talk to the prosecutor. I told the clerk that alone should merit a point reduction. She wasn't laughing.

    DOOOHHH!!!!

    A word of caution: Watch the PIP police. I hear that these cops are underpaid and are an angry bunch. They even ticket other cops.

    Most likely they will knock it to a large fine, after all, NJ needs the $ so an official can pocket it.
