Title should read ''Bernie changes his title, no changes happen'' :D.

IMO he'll get a suspended sentence for X years and he'll buy the Nurburgring. I quite like Bernie so would like to see him stay :).

Mmmmm........ I think I follow your train of thought!

I have to say though that we're still waiting to find out if us "Brits" have failed to do it yet again!

People seem to have forgotten that we've not had the verdict from his UK trial yet!

There was supposed to be a verdict on January 12th but the judge either got too confused by the case, scared or both and deferred his ruling until a later (unspecified) date!
( Formula One boss Bernie Ecclestone must wait as judge reserves judgment in £27m bribery trial - Telegraph ).

Now, can he actually be put on trial in Germany while he's still waiting for the judgement to be decided in the UK?

What happens if in the middle of the German trial the UK courts find him Guilty and give him a prison sentence?
Does the German trial have to cease so that he can serve his time in the UK?
Do the UK courts have to wait until the end of the German trial? - If so, and he's found Guilty in Germany as well, who gets him first to serve his sentence?

And as I have posted in the other Bernie thread, considering the statements that the German judge who will preside over the case has already made about Bernie, can he really expect to get a fair trial in Germany? - The judge is already showing that he has made his mind up about Bernie before this trial has even begun!

Based on the statements made, I think the German courts would be wise to assign a different, unbiased judge to preside over the case. Otherwise it's pretty much a lynch mob going through the motions of a trial to justify a predetermined outcome! (And that would leave them wide open to an appeal to any conviction based on the judge showing bias!).

This could all get very messy! (As things tend to when they involve Bernie! :D )

    +1

He's also still a *long* way from convicted yet too...... Wouldn't surprise me at all if he walks..... As I said before, never, ever, underestimate the old fox! ;)

    Cheers,
    Ian
