    Yes. And it would have been cheaper than if they had been say 2.2 ltrs ... as the bore stroke ratio could have been the same as the v10. Ofcourse they would have gone clean sheet ... as this is F1. Anyway much of the bore stroke ratio research they did for the v10 would still be relevant and thus there is a money saving there.
    Because it's a electronical controlled limit, not getting the most out of a physical size type limit. We don't have speed cameras on the corners and anybody pulling more than 5.5 G's electronically restricted to below say 5.

    Thus setting wing and tyres sizes is the same as setting engine size ... thus go away engineers and come up with your best.

    Restricting revs, is like go away engineers and we will stuff your efforts up afterwards. I just don't like this concept. Everything should be stressed to the very max.
    They were not a mistake to me. You will see. They will sound great and be fast, etc. Everybody got way to excited about the v10's ... nothing magically about them at all, just the right number of cylinders for that cc size (cooling requirements, etc.).

    And yes agree ... lets just think forward, not backwards.
