Looks like Bertone is selling the collection, Bravo Athon and the Marzal. The Bravo is a must in my collection http://www.rmauctions.com/FeatureCars.cfm?SaleCode=VE11&CarID=r104&fc=0 http://www.rmauctions.com/FeatureCars.cfm?SaleCode=VE11&CarID=r107&fc=0 http://www.rmauctions.com/FeatureCars.cfm?SaleCode=VE11&CarID=r108&fc=0 http://forums.finalgear.com/automotive-news/bertone-selling-its-collection-48904/
Agreed!
'These cars represent a highly significant slice of Bertones creative history, as well as a unique opportunity to purchase some of the best known and most influential dream cars ever built. This coupled with the fact that the upcoming auction represents the very first time that any of these six vehicles have been offered for sale on the public market, makes for a unique and very special ownership opportunity. We anticipate that they will be well received by the collector car world,' said Max Girardo, Managing Director, RM Europe.
Time to make a public donation or call the Factory to ask them to buy the Athon, Marzal and Bravo and install them in Factory's museum to prevent those beauties to be hidden for years ?
Brilliant idea, Fabone, These cars should stay where they belong ( if poor old Bertone needs the cash ) So sad. May Audi buy them and bring them to Sant'Agata, please PL

I don't consider them to be cars for the collector car world...they should be destined to a museum...again Sant'Agata first choice. Lamborghini wouldn't have first rights to them?
RM always puts a price range prior to the auction. Anyone care to put out their crystal ball and see how it compares to what RM's prediction is. Then of course the actual selling prices can be a shock or let down, who knows in this market. Athon 175-250 Bravo 250-400 Marzal 400-600 Zero 400-600
One would have though Audi would have already acquired them if they were interested. Its been no secret for a while now that Bertone needed to sell.
wow. that is a shame that Bertone needs to sell its history like that... I guess when things arent going well, anything is for sale....
+ 1. The best comparison I can think of is when athletes sell off their trophies (rather than hand them down to family members). Sad.
And I remember a summer or two ago at the Lambo Club dinner at Laguna Seca Country Club (where they now have Concorso) the night before Concorso, Mrs. Bertone and a son, I think , were introduced presented as having restructured the company and resurrecting it for the future. I guess that didn't work out???
NOOOOOOO!!!! This can't be happening, wake up wake up! A goal in my life was to go to Italy before I die and see all the museums of Bertone, Pininfarina, and Ital Design and see all those cars. Chances are I will never see those now. Chris
+1 I too had hoped to travel to Italy to see the complete Bertone collection, now that isn't going to happen. It is a sad thing when the family silver is sold off. Although I've been fortunate enough to have seen the Athon, Marzel and Genesis (Seemingly missing from this sale) I never got to see the Bravo and I cannot help but wonder if all theses cars will land up in some private collection and rarely, if ever, see the light of day. The Bravo in particular should attract a lot of interest as I believe it has some 30,000 kms/miles on it, thereby making it a fully functional and 'practical' baby supercar, unlike the Marzel with its glasshouse and uneven weight distribution, and Athon with no roof whatsoever. (Would still love them though Any news about the Countach and Miura owned by Bertone? I presume they're being kept as they were such commercial successes for the company. Anyone know the VIN for the Countach BTW? I have the VINs for all the other Bertone Lambos, but not that one. Also the engine numbers for the Athon and Bravo? Just asking as I'm a numbers anorak/geek.
I hope they will be picked up by hard core enthusiasts like most of us who contribute here. I would love to acquire the Bravo
This really, really hurts. I like many of you love these 'one offs'. To see this happening is just so sad. Where is the Bianchi Runabout? Has that already been sold?
