Hello friends! I'm sure a number of you are familiar with the artwork from Bertrand Lavier that is a wrecked Dino 308 GT4 (if not, the story of it is below the pic). In my efforts to keep track of all things 308 GT4 related, I was wondering if anyone knows the chassis number for said vehicle?

    Thanks!

    Story behind the car:

Bertrand Lavier’s 1993 'Dino' sculpture is a bold exploration of the boundaries between art and object, elevating a wrecked Ferrari Dino into a work that questions the very nature of value, beauty, and narrative.

Retrieved from a scrapyard, the iconic sports car—damaged but not forgotten—becomes the centerpiece of Lavier's "ready-destroyed" series. In this series, Lavier pushes the concept of the ready-made, pioneered by artists like Marcel Duchamp, by emphasizing objects that are not only pre-existing but also pre-damaged. The 'Dino,' with its crushed frame and visible wear, carries a potent emotional charge, evoking stories of speed, loss, and survival. Though no lives were lost in the accident that damaged this car, the visual impact alone suggests a narrative that the viewer can't help but imagine.

Thanks for posting. I am a 308 owner and an artist working in painting, sculpture and other media. When making sculptures I use found objects like Lavier. Love Lavier's output. However, never once thought I would put my 308 on a pedestal but have considered making colour marks all over it; re-define it as a painting. This GT4 is an effective piece, I would say, to evoke concern and invite questions. I love GT4's. A beautiful wreck.
