For those of you who are familiar with aftermarket exhausts for the 575, which do you recommend? Tubi? Capristo? X-Ost? Novitec? Kreis-sieg? Cargraphic? I have been told that the Tubi sounds good at idle and low rpm, but gets somewhat quiet at higher rpm's. Is this true? I have heard Capristo on other Ferrari models, and it sounds great, but never heard it on a 575. Any comments or input on this would be appreciated!
Any sound clips or links to videos? Thanks. Also, can you give any more details? "Boom" is pretty self explanatory ;-), but just wondering if you can comment on the characteristics of the unit (sound, quality, weight, changesin vehicle characteristics like throttle response, etc).
Attitude mostly. The Cargraphic offers the low end rumble of a Tubi and a far more harmonic high rev wail without the rasp of a Tubi or Capristo. It seemed to offer the best of both worlds. On the 3 550s I've had, the first one had a Tubi, the second a Fuchs/CG and the third came with the Tubi then I added the X pipe. That pipe is now under a car with a CG/Fuchs and it sounds like the thunder of the gods!
Funny. I was just going to post the same question. I had a 550 with an X-pipe and tubi's. I loved it. I now have a 575 with x-pipe and tubi's. It sounds like air going through a coke can. Need help. 575 advice only please! Another thing about the 575, it makes so much noise at the start with the air hats on the manifold taping away. It drives me nuts! The suspension is too soft. It's like driving a Maserati q-port. I need some help here. I drove a SA the other day. It had none of these issues, sound, suspension just right.
I have a 2002 575M, and this vintage comes standard with the central exhaust. This was the first year of the 575M an Ferrari made it too soft in a number of ways. I installed X-OST rear exhausts and like it very much. It has a great gurgling sound at idle and is really nice at full throttle. There is none of the low rpm resonance that plagued the Tubi. The X-Ost was well engineered to sound great up and down the band. Best yet, Ricambi will get you a great deal on it. Highly recommended.
If anyone is interested, I have a set of Stebro tail mufflers that are pretty loud at any rpm. They are made to fit the 550 / 575 rear bumper and do not look right on the 456, which is more round. This is why I am selling them.
Go for Quicksilver, smooth sound , no resonance like the Tubi I had before. Am using X-pipes from Australia - see threads. Regards, Ron
Issue No.1: Get a cargraphic exhaust. I've tried it, it's awesome. What works on the 550 doesn't work on the 575 - the exhaust is configured too differently. Issue No.2: Get your F-dealer to install you the FHP! The original 575 was highly criticised in Europe because of its soggy handling, and Ferrari quickly released the FHP to address the issue, very successfully. The FHP was then followed by the more expensive GTC package (which you can also have installed on an existing car). The FHP is enough to make the 575 stick to a Porsche Turbo in the twisties; the GTC package adds superior braking power and an even sharper, firmer and more reactive setup that works wonderfully on the track. BTW I'm also looking at 575s on the US market, and 575 Fioranos seem to be rarer than Bugatti Veyrons!
Hi thinking of upgrade my exhaust also but afraid of waste money again this time round....becoz the last upgrade from stock to tubi is kind of disappointed!!! so now i m considering another brand but is hard to find someone to give advice or maybe a video clip is good. (there's lot of video and post out there but mostly 550's rather than 575) How about kreissieg any comment? TQ
575 Novitec in stock and ready to ship. I was told by an owner that once he heard the Novitec exhaust on his car, he would never by a Tubi again.
My Superamerica has the X-OST and it sounds really good. It gives the car a much deeper burble at idle, has a nice progressive increasing wail as the revs climb and it makes great popping noises when you come off the gas. It's everything I wanted in an exhaust and really brings out the sense that I am in a big ferocious V12 Ferrari. The X-ost is beautifully built and finished and the tips sparkle in the sunlight. Really nice to look at and even better to listen to from the cockpit, unlike the Tubi for the 575 which drones in the cockpit and gives you a headache ten minutes into the drive. I was driving it in Corona Del Mar this afternoon when I downshifted for a curve as I passed by a parked VW Jetta. The downshift roar set off the VW's alarm! totally unintentional, but quite funny anyway.
I am thinking of getting an '02 575, but the model I am looking at has a stock exhaust, whereas my old '99 550 has a tubi. As some of the other posters on this thread already noted, the tubi is nice (at low revs, anyway) on the 550 but not necessarily on the 575. It looks like the Cargraphic system and the X-ost come pretty highly recommended for the 575, but they seem to be different types of systems -- X-ost consisting only of bolt-on silencers while the Cargraphic system includes 1) presilencer replacement pipes, 2) catalytic set, and 3) backboxes. Is there actually a big difference between the two in terms of # of components needed, cost, and difficulty of installation? Part of the issue is that my local dealer says they only have experience with Tubi, so there might be some learning curve issues involved in either of the other two options. Appreciate any input, need to get those parts ordered so I can drive my new toy!
I have got rid of my Tubi and QuickSilver center pipe. Just place order the Kreissieg F1 Valvetronic and also the cat-bypass pipe. Hopefully this is the right one? Since cant get much sound sample of real 575M from anywhere.(mostly only 550's). I guess 575m are rare...but anyway will make a video of it once its install....keep my finger cross... TQ
When I bought my 03 575 it already had a Tubi on it. It sounds nice but is a bit wearing after a year as a daily driver. I really need to look into other options. However, first I need to decide what to do with all my leather shrinkage. Also considering moving to FHP, but again do I really want that in a daily? -dsd
just did a 2600 mile road trip in my 575 with Tubis and never once turned on the radio. to each their own
Does anyone have a technical drawing of the 575 exhaust? I have not looked underneath one and would like to know the configuration and how many cats, pre-cats and mufflers it runs. I'm looking at a car right now, and want to see what I will need to do to bring it to my ludicrous standards of foolishly loud. Keith

Probably not useful since 550 and 575 are apparently totally different soundwise, but we put http://www.ricambiamerica.com/product_info.php?cPath=175&products_id=263845 with Quicksilver mufflers on the 550, and it sounds amazing.
