Title may be misleading.....Looking to trade in my 04 Vette Convertible and I am looking for something sporty, nice, and that can possibly drive better in snow and wet weather then the vette. Looking to spend no more then about 40K. Do they make the infinit G35 coupe in an awd version? Thats kind of along the lines I am looking at. Thanks for yout help!

They don't make an awd g35 coupe yet.

    Consider a used S4?

BMW makes awd 3 series, the xi I believe.

Out of ideas at the moment.

If I was looking for a sports car I could drive in the winter, it would probably be the Carrera 4.

I second this, 993 C4. I'm not completely up on 911 resale, but I think you could find one ~$40k.

+1 for the S4 You can make those little cars MOVE, very reliable, and fairly economical in the long run. Plus you don't look like some ricer kit with a big spoiler on his evo VIII.

hhmm, are you set on getting an all-wheel drive car???......for under $40k there are lots of nice choices, my first 2 would be an E46 M3 or a higher miles E39 M5.....i've driven both in the snow, no problems.........and i'd consider both very sporty. an older S4 would be great too.........an STI or Evo if you don't mind being thought of as a "ricer" are both very nice cars for the money. I did a quick search on autotrader for C4's, not too many at or around $40k......the majority were in the upper 50's and lower 60's......
    just my $0.02....
    Lex.

By far my choice is the S4 *Avant is a really usable wagon that really kicks hiney

but the S4 (with winter wheels if you are in a snow area) is the best package of summer, wet, performance, stability, traction... that you can get. Has a smallish back seat and big trunk. It is HEAVY and Thirsty but you don't ge that without giving up something

Join the Porsche Club of America and pick yourself up a nice 1995 993 C4.

Last of the Classic Porsche air cooled motors plus awd=no brainer.

If you need four doors then Audi S4.

The M3, the 993 or the 996, or the CLK55.

Highly recommend an audi or carrera awd. I'm pretty sure the g35 is awd.

you can get a spoiler delete option. or just take it off and have someone seal up the holes. it doesnt take very much. besides, its been proven that the wings on both the sti and evo help with downforce considerably. i remember Top Gear had a segment on it awhile back

edti// only the g35 sedan comes in AWD, no coupe as of yet

yes the wings on the evo and sti are functional, but without them, the cars look hella stupid.. i think the wing may be a little crazy for me on the sti, but it makes the car.. anyways, g35 only comes awd in 4door right now.. get a carrera awd, audi s4, 330xi (bmw).. or maybe even a clk 4matic if they make the clk in 4matic..

The BMW M5 IMHO. If that is too expensive for you, the Subaru STi is fast, handles well, has AWD , seats five and is well less than $40k!

STi's or EVO's in black are much less flashy than in blue, yellow (EVO), or silver.

bmws are horrible in the snow with out the xi package unless you get true old fashion snow tires...the m3 and m5 are very bad, i have driven them both in the snow...in light snow...they couldnt get out of their way......

i am not crazy about sti...the looks are joke for anyone over 25....and you get that special subu tinny cheap feel, esp when closing the doors....but the sti is fast, the wrx has very bad turbo lag and a horrible sounding exhaust note............

You think the NSX is the best ALL ROUND car out there. That's laughable.

I recently got an RX-8 and have found it to be a terrific all round performer. With a set of snow tires, winter driving will be fine.

I fail to see the irony. It's a competitor for the G35 coupe, as he stated he wanted. And IMO, it's a lot better than a G35 coupe in just about every way.

You mocked the guy for posting about the NSX, and then posted about a car that is usually not even considered in the same *league* as the NSX. I was just confused. It would be like dissing the Audi S4 and suggesting a Jetta Wolfsburg.

I'm not slaggin the RX-8 - I think it's a solid car, but Best All Around?

Well, my mocking of the NSX comment was more because it's a two seat, lmited storage space car which I wouldn't want to drive in the snow. Not for lack of capability, but rather because it's an NSX. It really isn't along the lines of a AWD G35C at all.
