Mine arrived today and it shows a few different apps that can be used. Does anyone have any experience with a Kiwi2? Which app would you recommend? The easiest one to use would go to top of the list. I dont track my car so I dont need lap timer or anything fancy just basic diagnostics...

For OBD codes do you guys see actual values at the OBD plug with these apps? i.e., actual voltages for the sensors?

Curious as how expanded the info is over a basic code reader.

    Thanks

    Yes, voltages can be displayed.

Maybe you could take some screen shots of it in the voltage display mode. That would be really helpful in trying to sort out some OBD codes I think.

I'm going to put mine on tomorrow....I threw a CEL over the weekend. I'm sure its because of the test pipes I put on it. It's almost time to put the car away so I am sending my old Hyper-flows out to be rebuilt and will reinstall them this winter....

Tell me about rebuilding your hyperflows. Is Troy recoring them? How old were they?

What is the cost? Thank you.

Bob I'm not sure how old they are. The Hyper-flows were on the car when I purchased it. Troy emailed me back saying sometimes they can recore them. The price was aprox $1200. I really loved the sound with the Hyper-flows and the tubi so I want to go back to that setup..

DashCommand provides quite a bit of live data (called PIDS) however cat temps or voltages from the TC or TCU is not one of them.

This is a limitation of the car, not the tool.

I get cat temps with this tool on my Audi S5

You do get however, alot of useful data like fuel trims by bank, 02 sensor voltages, air/fuel ratio, coolant temp, rpm, road speed (it can then calculate the selected gear if you input the gear ratios which i thought was cool), and a ton of other stuff.

It can also record and graph for playback and analysis.

And it does read and clear codes and works in your other OBD2 vehicles.

I am probably going to get a dash mount for my ipad so i can monitor some items such as fuel trims and coolant temp all the time.

I hooked up the Kiwi 2 today using dash Command I am really excited to get into but can see I have tons of learning. First thing is I need to get another Ipad (daughter has confiscated mine) At 49 I cant read the gauges on my Iphone. I think dashCommand has a forum so I will try and pick up some info on there..any cool tips are appreciated.

There definitely is a bit of a learning curve.

I also found most of the default gauge screens not that useful but so far I have been using it with the specific purpose of diagnosing running rich code I got and to that end I have pretty much been focusing on the fuel trims and coolant temp.

Will play around with it more once I am confident I have that problem resolved.

Forgot to mention, there are "add on" sensors available (such as K type TCs) that you could use to monitor things that the ECU doesn't (or doesn't report) natively.

No experience with them, just saw when I was browsing.

I spoke to them about this and looked at them thoroughly.

First off the thermocouples plug into the add ons so it would negate your cat ecu unless you were to try and split the TC signal which would really be a mess.

Beyond that there really is no discussion other than the add ons are $70 each and of course would need to be physically mounted , etc. I think the first thing I mentioned is a deal breaker on them anyway.

Tapping the outputs as I have described and monitoring them with a DVOM is really easy and accurate and doesnt upset the normal operation of the ecu.
