Going to buy a battery tender - does anyone recommend one vs. another? I keep on seeing Deltran as a popular battery tender brand? 12Volt vs. 6 Volt? Thanks in advance!

I've had very good results with the Deltran "Super Smart" battery tenders. Good warranty (something like 10 years?), decent price, and seem pretty reliable. As to 12V vs 6V - which you get depends on what kind of electrical system your vehicle has...

I've been very happy with Griot's Battery Manager Junior for a couple of years. It's the small one that plugs into the lighter socket. I like it because it has the lights to show you when it's charging versus simply monitoring, and it's small.

It may be made by Deltran for Griot's, not sure.

I have no problems with the Schumacher 1.5 amp tender on mine, at a fraction of the cost of the ones previously mentioned.
It comes with a quick-disconnect plug you can pre-wire to the battery so the clamps shown are not required. Run the plug outside the battery box off to one side. When the time comes just set the tender on the floor and plug in. The electronics are the same, the principles are the same. It has the "Float" feature as well. Three indicator lights, Green=Float, Red=Fault, Yellow=Charging

    30.00 or less

If your car is 12 volt you use 12 a volt charger. A 6 volt charger would be a waste of time although this charger has both options.

I to am a fan of the good old walmart schumacher battery chargers and tenders. I had one that I paid no more than 25 bucks for and it works great, never had a problem.

I have Deltran battery chargers. You can often find them on sale, they're not all that expensive.

Wade- AF Research Lab is here, as are Sandia and (90 mins away) Los Alamos National Labs. Lots of high tech in NM, including the first commercial space port under construction as we speak, and WSMR, which you mentioned.

This is the one I have, and it works fine. I don't use the clamps though, I have a separate piece bolted right to the postive feed on the right side of the engine. I will take some pics tomorrow and post.

It works very well. It came with my f430sp.The car end of the plug in wire is different. It plugs in under the passenger side dash/glove compartment close to the door. The light cycles goes through from red to green .It repeats itself.

WalMart carries a battery charger called "Smart Charger" that blows away the battery tender IMHO. This charger will detect defects in batteries, state of charge and health of the battery on top of that it is quite quick in bringing up a low battery.

Have you used or heard of "Save A Battery" by Granite Digital? http://www.saveabattery.com/ Any information please. How does this compare with the Deltran Battery Tender?

Deltran make a couple of versions - a regular that charges at 1.250 A and a Jr. version that charges at 750Ma

I have both kinds and they work just fine. The Jr's work great on older cars with smaller batteries and the regular ones are suitable for modern cars that have huge batteries.

You can find them online really cheap.

The Ferrari factory one made by CTEK is simply too expensive IMO for what it does. The Deltran is all you need
