    Rudy's is good and consistent.

I do recommend staying away from Spring Creek BBQ.

Years and I mean years ago (like 30+) we used to go to Otto’s on Memorial Drive just west of downtown. The hamburgers and bbq were excellent and they had the coldest beer in town! Is Otto’s still around?

Yes, Otto's still around. It is decent (I go there often for lunch -- in the tunnels downtown), but not great.

What part of town you going to be in?

    Pinkerton's
    Killen's
    Corkscrew
    Gatlin's

Wife and I went to Goode & Co. some years back when we were in town for a Mets game. As I recall, the Q was good to OK, but they had a pretty wide assortment of smoked meats. We went to the original joint...T

I haven't been in a few years, but they hit such a popularity they couldn't keep up with demand. I believe it's gotten better last I heard.

I would not be surprised. We've been to a few places before/after they were on the Texas Monthly list, and some of the smaller joints just can't keep up with the surge in demand.

The most irritating thing was the folks behind the counter were sooooo slow! I guess I have not fully lost my
    New Yorker impatience!

Sad, but we like Rudy’s the best too.....more of a reflection that we don’t care for Texas BBQ. Much prefer Memphis style. But of course the one Memphis place that moved in here (Corkys) only lasted a few months.

You live in the cypress area?

They chose a really bad time to open that. I saw they've already converted it to another restaurant of some kind. When it was Baker Street they had good food.

Still around but no longer on Memorial. They were right east of Memorial Park and you would not recognize the area today.
