    I need to re-route a vacationer thanks to Hurricane Michael, and it appears TX gets the nod. Haven’t spent a lot of time on TX beaches other than Galveston so would like some suggestions.

    We are renting 2 houses this summer in the Port Aransas area called Cinammon Shores. Community pools, and close to the beach. My Houston daughter knows a ton of people that vacation there.

    No such thing. Texas beaches look like a place where you could and would catch multiple deadly diseases.

    Wife and I shared a condo with friends in Surfside Beach. It was nice. Quiet. Gotta drive through a butt load of chemical plants to get there. But once there, I enjoyed it....T

    No comparison between Florida beaches and Texas beaches. Its like comparing Florida beaches to those on St John. But it you must, South Padre is our favorite. A bit of a distance, but I feel they are slightly better then those around Corpus. DO NOT, DO NOT route them towards Galveston, unless they like tar balls.

    Lived in FL for 10 years and TX for 7....will tell you thx beaches are not FL beaches, but you get that. With that in mind S. Padre Island is best option for a decent stateside vacation

    South Padre Island is the only clean beach I can think of.

    Surfside is good
    I love Port Aransas

    But for a postcard beach South Padre is nicest but a hell of a drive!!

    I was going to say Bolivar if surf fishing!!!!

    Do either of you have any 'can't miss' places in SPI?
    Things to do, bars, restaurants, etc.
    I have a short list, but it is based only on travel advisor or yelp, not from actual people such as folks on here...
