I grew up on Roger Moore as Bond. So. I guess I'm gonna stick with him! I do think though, that "License to Kill" (Timothy Dalton) was a great movie! GREAT gags too (The scene where he takes the money and the airplane).

Actually, I was referring to Theatre of Blood, where Vincent Price plays a mad actor putting his critics through death scenes from Shakespeare. Those different sidekicks were all Dianna in disguises.

Anyone watch any of the Bond movies on Spike TV the last few days? I had to give it up because they were playing 6 minutes of movie followed by 4 minutes of commericals (even in the middle of the night). That's why they allow 3hours of tv time for each movie. Crazy.

Pardon my ignorance, but I consider myself an avid Bond fan but have never seen George Niven in a film. Which Bond film was he in?

Sean Connery is the real Bond, Broccoli hired him because he said "Connery had balls".

Roger Moore next but I have a hard time believing any of the later Bonds, Dalton or Brosnan are too much of a stretch in the fight scenes, a 140lb man is going to beat up a 250lb guy with one punch? Connery looked like he could take care of himself.Lazenby was too boring to carry off the character.

But in reality they are probably more accurate to the real spy's -more unassuming

Best Villan would be Goldfinger, nothing like branding your women Gold

Best Car the original DB5,followed by the Lotus esprit in "Spy Who Loved Me", Bond would never drive a German BMW -what a sell out

    Z3, no. 750, yes. Z8 yes. Won't need a Q equipped towtruck for Lotus...speaking as ex-owner of 83 Esprit Turbo(grenade pack standard).
Never liked the jumping AM V8 much, but Vanquish was brilliant. DB5 keeping up with 355 was a stretch though...N2O perhaps?

Thanks for the clarification on the name and the film he starred in. I will definately have to look out for Casino Royale in the video stores.

I'd vote Connery first, Lazenby second, Brosnan last.

Connery -- well, he was just awesome! In every way, he WAS Bond.

But I like Lazenby because he PHYSICALLY fit the part. He was big, tall, had the swagger, and looked tough and imposing.

Brosnan, well he's just way too soft. Yeah, he tries to ACT tough, but he isn't tough. He's too small and too pretty. Yeah women love him, but if you were going to get in a boxing match, who would you fear LEAST of Connery, Lazenby, Moore, or Brosnan? I'd take on Brosnan with no fear at all, but wouldn't want to mix it up with Connery or Lazenby (back in their day, of course.)

Bond can't just ACT tough. He must BE tough!

I once read somewhere that Dalton and Lazenby were the ones who portrayed Bond the best based on the novels. Both Dalton and Lazenby were very different in the Bond character than the other three.

Connery era had the most famous Bond movies
Moore was very british and his movies weren't the best
Brosnan is the Bond of the new generation and he's sophisticated

It's very hard for me, a diehard Bond fanatic to choose which Bond is my favorite because all of them have their own characteristics. So I'll go by saying that my worst favorite Bond would be Dalton just because his movies weren't that good especially license to Kill which is just so out of line with the rest of the Bond Movies.

P.S. I must mention that I have a personal appreciation for Lazenby since I was fortunate enough to visit and explore Piz Gloria in Switzerland (main site of the movie On her Majesty's Secret Service), earlier this year. My friend even had the James Bond Spaghetti at the revolving restaurant!

    Best Bonds:

Connery defined the role and remains unsurpassed
Brosnan has brought the role back to it's former glory
Dalton was great in TLD but played it a little sappy
Roger Moore seemed like Bond at the time, but now seems comedic

    Best Bond Movies:

    Dr. No
    From Russia w/ Love
    Goldeneye
    The Living Daylights

All of these featured great performances, believable gimmicks and a plausible plot with a little complexity. You can't say that for a lot of other Bond movies.
