We often have events (or in my case, work) on Saturdays that keep us busy. Which carwash do you guys recommend in and around New York City for a good handwash on Sunday given that many places are closed.

What are the hours? And rates?

I know of a few places in Fort Lee that are probably open on Sunday. It's just over the GWB and they are quite reasonable. You will have to pay a $4-5 cover charge (GWB Toll), but it's worth it. You can fill up while here as well and pick up some groceries (non perishable since you're NEVER HOME and always working). I'll ask around tomorrow and find out who is open there on Sunday.

How about on Long Island? Where do people get their Ferraris hand-washed?

    Hey VIk....

if u go to the edgewater driving range.....just keep going on the same road for like 5 minutes max, and there is a car wash on the right. $10 i believe.

Thanks for weighing in, but I would like to keep this thread on-topic. Once again, I'd like to hear suggestions on where you would recommend a car wash in and around NYC.

Thanks for the info Hubert. Have you every used them? Open Sundays?

yeah...used them 2x. it's sort of like the same type of car wash that we have gotten with Lupe at his car wash in jersey. u drive in the car wash....they squirt soap and water on your car....then u drive out and they towel down the car...etc...

i forgot if they open sundays or not.

    its $20 or $30 for a hand wax....but it takes 30 minutes.

20 - 30 mins for a hand wax. Unbelieable! That's how long it takes for Gus to do a regular wash. You get what you pay for I guess (unless you've gotten the wax and think they do a good job).

Bridgeview Auto Laundry (next to the Diner, right?) is the one I think you are referring to U. There is also Skippy's down the street further, but you may have to watch the front clearance up the driveway there. I'll also check to see who else is open on Sunday in that area...you actually do have a few options.

Sounds good. Curious to know if they are a "whizz by" shop - ie, volume washers (Lupe's wash place) -- or are they more of a "hands on," -- work on one car at a time -- type shop (Technik1)?

These are one at a time spots without the half automated and 1/2 by hand crap that you sometimes find. Vik, if you plan on a detail let me know...I'm telling you my guy at Celebrity is the best and once you see his work...you'll be comin' back again and again. A BOLD statement from a stickler like me...

I think you mentioned this before Eric, didn't you. Sorry, I don't remember the details (pun intended).

Where's he at. How long for a detail, and whats the coin? Open Sundays? PM if you'd prefer. Many thanks.

Can't speak for all, but usually if you are on LI, you have a house, you can wash the car yourself.

    Which one Big-W? I assume you're not talking about Technik1, since that's on 29th b/w 10th and 11th.

    Hmmm?
