Hey folks, Just wanted your input. What do you think would be the best all around vehicle (1) to compliment a Ferrari. (I have a 360 Modena) Conditions: -must be family friendly (4 doors and 4+ seats) -must be capable of getting by all year round, including winter (light to moderate snow) (does NOT have to be AWD, or whatnot, but could be) Thanks!
Toyota Primus, 4 seater hybrid, saves gas and emissions ... so you can guilt free waste them in your Ferrari. As far as I am concerned, the family car should just be cheap and practical. Save the good stuff for the toys. Pete
Maserati Quattroporte (They'd be cousins) Audi RS6 or A8 (Great AWD choices) BMW M5 (Used E39s have some pretty decent prices, or the E60 V10)
Cayenne S if you want a mid size SUV BMW 745i if you want a sedan(new bodystyle out in a few months so many great deals to be had on low mileage pre-owned) What price range did you want to stay in? The Toyota Prius seems to be the rage in LA right now for secondary cars but I doubt that will fit a family comfortable.
That is dangerous as the wife might not be too happy. I read somewhere here that the first priority of owning a f car is that to make sure your wife is happy so she wouldn't complain about it. So I would get a merc. E may be S class for the family or even 4wd X5, Cayenne.
Depends on the wife, she might not be into cars. Plus if she is a bit of a greenie then she would be happy ... ... and make up the difference in house improvements/jewellery. Pete
Volvo S80. I wouldn't recommend buying new because of the poor resale but a 2001 biTurbo (T6) like mine sells for $13,000 to $16,000. Leasing a new one might make sense. The T6 is stylish, quick, roomy and cheap to purchase used. The only draw-back is the high dealership maintenance cost and the number of fragile high-tech components that will break over the long haul.
BMW 545i 6sp manual Cold weather package: *Heated steering wheel *Heated seats *Headlight cleaning system Sport Package: *Sport suspension *18x8 front 18x9 rear wheels, etc. I used to have a 540i 6sp. Practically a perfect daily driver. Perfect for the family, and when the family is not in the car with you, you can drive the heck out of it. I haven't driven a 545i yet, however, aside from being bangleized, it's got to be even better than the 540i I had. Good luck with your search! Mike
Audi S4 Wagon 55k fully loaded Audi RS6 Wagon 75k fully loaded Audi A4 Wagon 35k fully loaded All have AWD I dont know your price range though. All new BMW are just ugly so dont get BMW unless its an X5 4.8. If you want to make a true statement get a G55 AMG. Thats a cool car that can do it all.
Good thinking! I was in favor of the F car here on this end, but then I am also a happy camper with my '04 C 320 C, '04 Chevy duramax/allison 4x4 p/u and an "our's" '05 SLK 350 - so my suggestion would be to buy her an S 55 AMG - for sure that would make me happy!!! I would think that would fit the bill - 4 door, family friendly. Only problem with the S55 is you can't get it in Mars red to sorta match the F car, so you might have to scale down to the C55 AMG in Mars red/black leather/aluminum trim, six speed, etc . . . - that would be sharp! Forget the jewlery. You've gotten all sorts of suggestions! Carol
A Rolls-Royce, (Pre full BMW takeover), Keep your sports car sporty and your luxury cars luxurious. No compromise/crossover cars.
For the family car I would say KISS! Just Keep It Stupid Simple. The Ferrari is there for the fun. Buy a practical car. VW Touareg? BMW X5? BMW 5 touring?
