Hello, I have owned several P-cars and currently am considering a F-car but have a quandary. The P-car works well as a daily driver for me, is it realistic to even consider a Ferrari for daily use? I will put quite a few miles per year on it(12-20k) so it needs to be reliable. Any thoughts and input would be appreciated. I am not concerned about the depreciation component, just the "reality" of whether or not this is a reasonable thought. Will it hold up etc...I would prefer a cab or large sunroof as the top on the 993 never goes up except in rain.

I sincerely appreciate the thoughts, any high mileage experience would also be helpful.
    Thanks again!
    Glen

I can relate as I own a Ferrari 348ts and Porsche C2 Turbo. Yes, you can drive the Ferrari every day but your maintainance costs will increase and you will find it gets far more attention than the Porsche - sometimes the wrong kind. Make sure you have good secure parking and nobody parked next to you. Since I worry too much, my daily driver is a Ford Escort Wagon, which I can park anywhere without thinking about it. I may go back to an E320 Wagon in the future but the old Ford gets me to work just fine for now.

On the other hand, I have a few friends who drive thier F-cars every day (except in rain or snow) without problems but the service intervals are shorter, increasing running costs. Hope that helps a little.

I'd say an Enzo, but you say you want open top, so how about an F50? =) Sorry I just had a funny picture of someone using an F50 as a daily driver....I wonder if its been done?

used my Mondial for a daily (except snow) for 3 years.
Two lessons learned from using a Ferrari everyday: get good tires, and a loud tubi exhaust is fun on the weekends, but not every day or for long trips.

This discussion has been held at this forum many times before. You will definitely find a lot of information in the archives.
It is difficult to say which Ferrari is the best daily driver. All modern Ferrari's are relatively good daily drivers. They are completely different drivers if you compare them to a Porsche. A Porsche sometimes feels like a comfortable Audi when you drive it at a normal speed on the highway. A Ferrari will always feel like a Ferrari. The involvement in the driving is different.

It all depends on your budget. But I agree that your maintenance costs will be high if you use a Ferrari on a daily basis.

    Try some! :)

    Great info so far.
Thanks for the prompt on the search, alot of helpful data. The 550 is intriguing for sure. Just have the bug bad to look at other options. Have had literally 10 P-cars over the years because of the 4 seat(kids) config but they are getting too big for the back seats so I am exploring other options. Will keep the 996 GT3 SuperCup for racing, have a GMC crew cab dually diesel, and LX470 with the 993 cab currently. The cab has 150k on it now, hence my thought process...Thanks again for all the input, very helpful!

I think if they put the 2008 dino into production that would be a great everyday driver

Actually there is an individual in Louisiana that uses his F50 as his daily driver.
