I will be in Florida from Jan 14th - 25th in Vero Beach. Is there a better day to visit Cavallino to see the pre 1975 models.

Friday they will be out on the track and coming into the paddock hot. It is a time to see them in action. Smell them when they're cooling off, etc. You can approach just about anyone. I try to stay out of the way when you know there is work to be done.

Saturday the same cars and others will be shined up and at their best. Sometimes a race car will be presented as it came off the track the day before. It just won't be as hot or smell as strong.

Friday is usually the best track day at PBIR. I met John Shirley last year (although I didn't know who he was when I was talking with him). Saturday is the concourse on the lawn at the Breakers which is also a must see. Track day has been $30 for spectators, Concourse has been $50 for spectators.

Saturday. That is the day of The Cavallino at the Breakers.

I used to like the track days, but the "new" Moroso, called PBIR, charges too much for the track days. Sure I will go one of the track days, but the food sucks, the track sucks, but the cars hopefully will be great despite the economy.

If you can only go one day, go Saturday.

My best day at Cavallino was every year up until 2 years ago........ Last year was horrible, and there will be no future years for me there until/unless I get an apology from Mr. Barnes.........

apologize for what? (I bet you were waiting for someone to ask)
IMO, if you live in the area or traveling to the area in January, Cavallino is THE Ferrari event of the year. Period.

Thanks for the info. I will try and get there on Saturday. Can I park at/or near The Breakers? I would not mnd meeting some FChat folks while I'm there. Give me a meeting place on Saturday and I'll confirm.

you can park at the hotel or a few blocks away and walk over. bring change for the parking meter if you decide to park on the street. (or it may even be free street parking on the weekends)

The track at PBIR is really a lot of fun, watching all ages of cars on the track and as noted in another post...hearing and smelling them is great.

If you want to see the classics all polished up for judging then Satuday at the Breakers is great.

I think Monday is the last day to register.....see you there.

I do love the track events and go to Lime Rock, CT every fall. Just getting in Thursday and need to do stuff Friday to get place ready for renters in Feb and March.

I'm really in the mood to see some stunning early Ferraris. I'm hopeful there will be a bunch at Cavallino this year.

probably gives is the best overview - Friday is absolutely amazing - there can be 60 to 70 million in cars in first turn after the long straightaway - there is viewing stand for that turn and if you like vintage Ferraris there is, in my opinion, no more exciting place west of the Goodwood Revival to see that sight.

The Breakers on Saturday is the same scenery - stationary...
