I just bought a black 1988 328 and it needs a full detail. The paint is all original but it needs some professional attention. I was hoping for a referral. Thanks.

Call Al at Special Touch Auto Detail in the Scottsdale Airpark. Sorry, I don't have the number with me.

Adam - I can't help with your specific question, as I don't live in your area. But since you're a new Ferrari owner, why don't you consider joining the Arizona chapter of the FCA. Here is their web site:

Not only will you have a great time as a member, but you can also ask your fellow members for information like this.

I used European Detail myself. They did a fantastic job on my 328. They had it the entire day. They steam cleaned the carpet, wheel wells, engine bay with several cleanings, polishings, and coats of wax. The car looked terrific when it was done...but it was $270 plus the tip. It was worth doing it though.

Thanks for the replies. I had already booked a detail by the time the responses for European Detail Specialists were posted. I went with the guy who details most of the cars for Scottsdale Lotus. His name is James. I was very happy with the work on the paint. The black color came up looking great. I might try and attend the Ferrari event in the end of October. If any of you will be there you can see his work. .

Even James admitted that the owner of European Detail was the best in town. Of course he added that the owner won't detail you car. It's a competitive business and James spent about 4-5 hours on the car with 2 people. I would recommend him, $225.00 for a full detail on a car that really needed it.

    Thanks for your help, Adam

Evan Kirk at Distinctly Different does all my cars. He is completely mobile and completely self contained down to carrrying his own soft water.

He is also the expert on call at the Penske megaplex in N. Scottsdale when their in-house shop, Danny's, screws up a detail or pre-delivery cleanup on a new car. My Carrera GT was in for some updates recently and the factory includes a full detail. The service manager called me and said thay would just pay Evan and have him do the car when it suited me, at my home.

The biggest problem with Evan is getting him to stop rubbing that last little spot that only he can see and having him get home to spend time with his family.

He uses Zaino to establish a great foundation and his work literally shines for ever. I cannot recommend him more highly. 602-788-1477
