Hi, I'm a total noob. Have owned my 328 for 6 weeks and it needs a good wash and polish. The paint is original, so I don't want to wear through it or unnecessarily damage it. I was thinking of using the 'Mothers' California Gold 3 step system (1. Polish 2. Micro-polishing glaze 3. Pure Brazilian Carnauba Wax). Is that system ok? I will do it all by hand and pre-wash with their car wash product. Any tips or tricks? Any places not to spray water? Thanks so much.
You might want to start by looking at all the other detailing threads already here and then maybe also look for additional tips in the detailing section
Haven't looked at the detailing threads, but I'd always recommend a wash + clay bar treatment as Step #1, just so you know exactly what you have to have to address. It only removes old wax and impurities, and does not remove any paint. On mine, after two clay bar passes (I use Griot's bar with Speed Shine lubricant), I found just a couple areas needed a light polishing.
