    I was accepted to UC Berkeley a couple days ago, and have decided that it's my first choice school. I have to apply for housing as soon as possible and was wondering if anyone had recommendations as to which dorm(s) were the best? Thanks.

    Now that takes me back to 1974. I would suggest an apartment on Telegraph Street myself. Of course you won't get much studying done.

    I couldn't compare the dorms. I was in unit 2. It is an interesting experience. None of them are too nice.

    What are you looking for? A quiet place to study? Social opportunities?

    For your post-dorming: If you are looking for a quiet place, I would recommend looking for an in-law apt in the north hills. If you want to keep it social, stay on the south side or anywhere close to the campus.
