take a trip up the palisades to bear mountain and hit storm king mountain highway.

Also, you could try taking exit 15 off the palisades and you end up in harriman state park. Some very nice twisties.

Finally, on a longer trip, you can take route 80 west until exit 12, and take county road 521 once you hit blairstown.

New Jersey has many great roads for running out a sportscar. For instance, from Ft Lee, take Rt 80 out to exit 19 then run north / west up through Blairstown/ Millbrook/ and north throught the Tocks Island project. Or, you can take Rt 80 to 287 south getting off south of Morristown, heading west into Far Hill, Gladstone, out towards Oldwick, etc. Over the years we have had many great rallies / tours in these areas. And of course, there is always eastern PA near New Hope and running north along the Delaware.

If you want to take a nice long ride, head out Rt. 80 to 287 south. Hope on Rt. 78 west to Clinton. Clinton is a cute little town, and a good place to take a break, if you need one. Then hop on the road out of Clinton down to Frenchtown (another cute little place). Cross the Delaware River from Frenchtown, and head south on 32 to New Hope. New Hope is a great destination, great restaurants and stores, and a fun place to spend an afternoon. Cross back to NJ, check out Lambertville right there, and then head back north up Rt. 202 through Fleminton to Bridgewater. Then you can either get Rt. 287 North or follow Rt. 22 East to get you back home.

Pick up a map of NJ from AAA, and you'll see the roads very clearly to take for this trip. It's a beautiful ride and a great way to spend a Saturday or Sunday. And if you want to make a weekend out of it, stay over somewhere near New Hope for the night and do more exploring out in that area. Take a detour over to Lahoska and Peddler's Village.

    Enjoy!!

p.s. The routes that PAD was talking about are great too. If you are wandering around the Gladstone area, don't forget to stop in at The Stable -- Candyland for car-lovers. And the Gladstone Inn is a great place for dinner or drinks, or lunch on Saturdays.

If I feel like a decent run I'll go
Rt287N to 17N to 7 lakes to Bear mountain Inn (via Perkins) to Barnstormers for BBQ Lunch to Rt84 & cross over the Hudson down NY 9S to Tappenzee to Palisades Parkway to Rt4W to Pkwy to Rt80W to home with maybe a stop at Rockland bakery for fresh bread.

I've been meaning to try the extended version
Up same way to Barnstormers Continue up Storm king hiway, across hudson down breakneck road, across bear mountain bridge, then down palisades
