Flyin' Miata is a legit tuner. My wife had a Flyin' Miata Supercharged NA Miata for a while and I can confirm it was a hoot to drive. It could hang just fine with the 2002 M Roadster I was driving at the time and was a much better handling car than the BMW.

Lotus Elise. It's the purest driving experience you can get with doors. To those saying its not a proper convertible, uhh what? Soft top goes on/off in about 30 seconds and stores in the trunk. I sold mine a few months ago to get the 360. I don't regret it, but I would have kept it if I had space for 2.

Hard to have fun on highway 17, too much traffic. Check out hwy 9 if you really want to have fun!

Not my old car. But it gave me a good laugh that they want $75k for an Elise

if the road is twisty enough , nothing on this list will keep up with a lotus elan , proved it to myself during the pandemic

An Elise is a targa, not a cabrio. I'll die on this hill!

Seriously, though, the sense of openness you get in a targa like the Elise and the sense of openness and presence you get from a low-sill convertible is completely different experience. Might not matter to you, but I don't think that's a controversial opinion.
