L.A. Woman by The Doors is a good 'top down' song.
I'd consider it a top off, or at least optional song. My bad, you mean the car-I got distracted by the title of the song. Who doesn't love L.A.
Sinatra & Mozart got multiple mentions. Phil Collins too, as I recall. One song that I am surprised has not popped up yet, or maybe I missed it, I Can't Drive 55 by Sammy Hagar....T
I'm not a city guy in Europe, but Steve Earle's Copperhead Road is great for putting your foot down just a tad more https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uhMO9azmKNU Works for me: Audioslave - Gasoliine https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=62_0ZHhOo58
Life's Been Good..Joe Walsh, his Maserati did one eighty five but he lost his license and now doesn't drive. ...(one of the links this? I didn't check..but a great go hard rip)... Cheers, RE
That's a good one. I remember reading the first Maser (normal production car) that could even do that speed was one of the Gran Turismo newer variants. Maybe he was driving an Fcar and didn't even know it--I mean hey, it was a wild time for Joe and his crew I mean he never even went to his mansion, right?!
Humbly submitted: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8P09rxVaQAM "Punkrocker" - TeddyBears (Featuring Iggy Pop) "I got both hands off the wheel, the cops are comin"; " I listen to the music with no fear"; " Cuz I'm a punkrocker...yes I am"
Maybe my favourite two: - Thunder Road by Bruce Springsteen: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YdhkaPZtQF4 - Under Pressure - Queen and David Bowie : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a01QQZyl-_I
Joe satriani "motorcycle driver". From the Extremist album. That song has resulted in more then a few speeding tickets. I have had to remove that song from the car.
Thunder Road-surprised nobody pulled that one out earlier also. On Boss's next album don't forget 'racing in the streets', and Candy's room is also on there
I may need to track down some Miami Vice episodes. Michael Mann had jan Hammer as musical director and he had some very good music...
... this was on Miami Vice, was also at the end of the movie Vision Quest... Red Rider, Lunatic Fringe. Excellent driving song...
Great taste, Jorge! Under Pressure is a favorite. Heard two classics yesterday that I haven't heard in a long time. Bungle in the Jungle by Jethro Tull and Come Sail Away by Styx....T
Rick, I have to say that since my original post of this thread I have not once turned on the stereo system... Engine music only...
Got to agree with "dm n stuff". I can remember cruising the Norther Michigan roads in the summer of 1968 with a group of friends packed into an early 60's Corvair, with "Born to be Wild" blaring over the radio (no stereos back then). I still have to turn the volume up to blast mode anytime it comes on.
"Ramble On" by Led Zep is a GREAT driving song. Yes I am old and believe that no one writes songs like the classic rock tunes I grew up loving.
