I'm 6' tall and trying to narrow down a suitable Ferrari model. I remember trying to drive a DeTomaso Pantera and basically giving up after working the pedals and steering wheel was nearly impossible. I'm looking at 70's and 80's Ferraris like the 308 GT4, 400i, Mondial, etc. Any recomendations?

I fit in a '77 - 308 GTB and I'm 6' tall 200 lbs. It's a little bit of a dance getting out, but the car has been lowered 1" so you're sitting pretty low.

You are only 6'. That's not very tall. You will fit in any Ferrari.

I share the same opinion. You fit in F360 Modena with challenge seats! :) But 6' is normal.

The 6' height is probably OK in a 328, but for the 308/328 it helps to be thin and limber. The seats are narrow in those cars.

For the cars you mentioned, like the 400i, I don't think you'd have any problem at all.

Do you plan to participate in FCA or FOC track events?

Even in "touring" classes, you will need a helmet. Might want to bring one with you when sizing-up head room in a particular car. Or, go the Mondial Cabrio route.

im 6-1 and 210+, and I have more than enough room in my 308 GTB, however the GTS cars are much tighter. But its also a learning curve. First time I couldnt even hardly sit in a GTS, second time I took my shoes off. I have very wide feet (11 EEEE) so any extra shoe width and my feet hang up in the pedals. Driving shoes are a virtual requirement for me. It also depends how your built. Some of us are long torsoed with short legs, and some are the opposite. Very few of us are normal, lol.

I can tell you what doesnt work being 6'3.

348ts is painful when you have the top stored behind you, but the 355 is ok
512TR is sadly a bit too small and my knee hits the center instrument cluster

I'm 6' tall and fit perfectly in my 85' 308qv-GTS , just remove the top (gts) and headroom is NEVER an issue. It's much easier to get in and out of too, with the top off.
But even at 6' with the top on, headroom is fine.(an inch or so to spare)

I'm glad to hear that some of the "smaller" Ferraris aren't that bad for taller drivers. While I'm sure I could fit in any Ferrari, I was looking more at what would be less painful to drive and would not have problems working the clutch and steering.

You said: "what would be less painful to drive and would not have problems working the clutch and steering"
I think you need to test drive a 308-328 and see for yourself. Believe me, there is NOTHING painful about it.

My limit in the 308 GTS is about 2 hours. After that, I do get a backache in it. The Mondial's limit is about 4 hours, the 365 will go all day...

for '70's and '80's models, the GT4 and Mondial coupe have good leg room.

That was my 1st criteria for getting a Ferrari too. The GTB/S were just too cramped for me. Besides, I like to take trips, and need a little more room for a suitcase and maybe some golf clubs.

So in that respect, the GT4 fit the bill perfectly.

It's also cooler sounding than the Mondial. Although a little "rougher" perhaps.
It's also a better investment (at this point in time)
It's also a little more "exclusive", since there aren't too many of them left
It's also smog exempt here in California (and a few other states)
It's also very easy to go on and on and on about the virtues of the GT4 :D

I like the 365GT 2+2 too... But find 12cyl, a little daunting expensewise... And, they're getting kind'a pricey!
