My father had heart trouble and had to have triple bypass in 1982. His heart Dr. was Theodore Tyberg and he is affiliated with NY Hospital Cornell Medical Center. He is one of the top in the country. Might be best for him to get back sooner than April if he is in discomfort.
My father was in St. Francis a few years back. They are regarded as one of the best cardiac hospitals in the country, and I have never heard a complaint regarding them. If you have cardiac issues in this area, that is the hospital you want to be in. Carl
THANKS CML, DAVE,AND ANDREW...YES ANDREW I REMEMBER YOU AT TODDS!! AND DAVE WITH MARQ RUEBEN.. ST FRANCIS AND DR O'leary IS THE BEST THERE IS THANKS AGAIN GUYS....APPRECIATE IT BRUCE
BROTHER BRUCE - THIS MIGHT JUMP-START YOUR POP GETTING TO DOC SOONER. CALL YOUR POPS UP. ASK HIM IF HE REMEMBERS YOU SAYING "ARE WE THERE YET?" WHEN YOU WERE A 'LIL GUY. WHETHER HE SAYS "YES" OR "NO" . . . ASK HIM "ARE WE THERE YET?"
I wouldn't wait. Make sure they send all the records and tests done. No reason to repeat, especially if they are doing nuclear or CTA testing. When it comes to heart caths, just make sure they go through the wrist and not the leg.
My girlfriend works at St. Francis' rehab dep't. If she can be of any assistance please let me know. The best to your dad. Matt
My brother had double bypass done there 20 years ago, I had a stent placed 2 years ago, and my brother just went back for a pacemaker. St. Francis is the best for the heart. My Doc there is Richard Shlofmitz, Chairman of the Cardiology Department. My regular cardiologist for checkups and annual stress test is Dr. Martin Handler in Great Neck. When I felt like the wind was getting knocked out of me, my brother sent me to Handler and he immediately gave me a complete set of tests, including a nuclear stress test... everything done right on his premises. He found a blocked artery and scheduled surgery for me with Shlofmitz the next morning. Ended up having a 99.9% blocked artery.
+1 Dr. Schlofmitz @ St Francis. He takes care of my father and did his double bypass. He's head of invasive cardiology.
