Ferrari Chat is more of a Ferrari Forum with a Lamborghini section so cant really compare it to Lamborghini Forums....
IMO, this is the best Lamborghini forum for enthusiasts of the cars up to the Diablo. Questions get answered quick and accurately most of the time and the best images are posted here.
Both are good. You will probably have to view both as the comminity is small and the forum's pace is a little slower there.
Yes! :-D Hey, it depends totally on what you want, what kind of car you own, what kind of car you are looking to buy, etc. I think all these forums are good. The information floating around on each one is typically focused on a particular "bent." Fred
Not being able to link in images and videos makes this one kind of suck in my opinion; if we're talking strictly forum features. I enjoy the people here as some don't participate on other lambo sites I'm also on.
Dear Ferraristi, This is a good all round forum for fun Lamborghini conversation. Everyone is able to jump in on the conversation because of the lack of walls...sub forums. Forget about anything technical here....I don't even bother to post for that here. LP is a very comprehensive Lamborghini forum and it's where I post all my technical threads like how to remove a VT system and GFA module diagnostics. You better not be a "talker" over there as there's not patience for BS and you will be shut down quickly. Gustan's thread whined on and on here....he was put in his place pretty quickly over there....same with ratedX. LT has great technical archives when JRV was alive. Since our Diablo's are from that era, you will find most answers to the typical issues. Newer stuff....umm...OK. TL! is my good buddy PDISME's own site. Very good site for all round Lamborghini conversation. I just don't post there as you can't be everywhere. Lamboweb is a great research archive. Not really much of a forum but great information and many from other forums post our technical info there as a technical hub. Shamile Freeze...Miami Vice !
+1 lambo power is for the gucci, carbon rocker cover and cars & coffee crowed. nice blingy website though i prefer lamborghini talk a bit more technical advice on the vintage cars.
In spite of his quirks JRV was the best thing that ever happen to forums. Free hard core advice for us DIY'ers. Now it's hard to find good technical info on any of the forums. Question is, what is the new generation going to do when they can't find a dealer, or find out how expensive it is. Will they pick up the wrenches? I doubt it. Not when they consider cup holders a valuable feature.
If you have a vintage lambo (i.e. Countach or prior), DIY forum to go to is VLG on yahoo. Hopefully, Fred and Jack will convert the software out of yahoo, as it currently pretty much sucks (the software, not the forum and advice). Fred, when are you guys going to make the change?
Hello, Omar, old friend. As you have been focused on your studies, as well you should, it is quite understandable you wouldn't be aware John has been resting peacefully since March of 2007. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=143816
In terms of Technical Q & A, how-tos and so forth on this site - One bit of logic would be to post 'em up. If other side of logic coin says a Tech section should be created first, that can be run by Rob. Whatever it takes to get creative juices flowing.
All the formats suck IMHO but this one works well for just shooting the sh*t. I think that's pretty much the intent. There's not a good organizational structure here for storing historical and technical information though. It's the same with all the others because they're all using similar if not identical software. Yahoo has some better organizational features but the interface is outdated and their operation is near collapse at times though they did recently fix their search function such as it is. Their software is the antithesis of Google's. That's the technical aspect but then there's the members to consider. I'm only interested in the older cars so it has to be VLG. There are a LOT of people always looking at that website so if you have a tough or interesting problem or point to make and you can articulate the issue well you can get some thoughtful advice from experienced people all over the world. The reach is pretty extensive. Personally I can put up with the software and you can post all sorts of file types for documenting stuff but no video. I think it's going to be a while for that on forum software. Use Youtube. I'll let Fred explain in detail why it's hard for them to move but basically there are a number of people who like the Yahoo and the email interface. I think he's worried about fracturing the community which is the essence of VLG. Old cars = older guys and some don't want a 3D Xbox gameboy interface. I can understand that. But I don't think this forum or the new VLG would bother them. But the email is an issue for some. The ads here and on VLG are pretty subdued but I recently joined a couple other forums and the damn ads just keep popping up all over the place while your typing based upon highlighted keywords and I haven't as yet figured out how to avoid the visual clutter. Younger people are more tolerant of this crap but I think that approach would really turn a lot of people off & out of these forums. So be glad they don't run Ferrarichart or VLG that way. Bob S.
Dear Lamborghinisti, You said it! PD's Halloween party is the best!! I promise to bring a girl over 21 so I don't have to keep watching my back....with your open bar... BTW, did you know Floyd's is closing... They're going to replace it with a Hard rock cafe... We should go but they have a 21 age min. on admittance. so no chicky on my arm... Shamile Freeze...Miami Vice !
I was a little disappointed in the whole Ferrari owners are ***s thing on LP. It's hard to imagine so much hate for the other marque. I guess at that level I wouldn't have thought you would have the teenager mentality.
