Does anyone have recommendations for the best part of the track for viewing events at Monza? Of course, across from the pits for part of the time, but where else do you enjoy the most?
    Thanks

I attended Monza in 1989 with a full photo credential.

Any area in and around inside Parabolica is good viewing especially at the end of the back straight when the cars brake down from top speed and fling themselves into the long right hander, really incredible.

Fun to watch the Ascari Chicane but from the year I was there the crowds were 10 deep everywhere around the circuit and they seemed to resent
credentialed photographers being out on the rails and would throw beer cans and rocks at us while others wanted to talk or give us bottles of water.

There is a crush getting out of Monza after the race. It seemed that they
had everyone funnelled down to a couple of exits since the track is part of a public park. I missed two trains to Florence due to the time it took getting out of the track (4 hours) and I finally got back the next morning (long story). So, unless things have changed over the years, be prepaired for long lines and impossible conditions but the best racing venue I've personally witnessed.

I sat across the pits on the main stands and it was pretty good. Especially since Monza has that mirrored glass above the pits, so you get a cool perspective.

Monza is not a great track for spectators since there are trees everywhere and the circuit is flat. So regardless of where you sit, you only get a small piece of the action. That's why I settled for the obvious seats.

Take a motor home and camp in the official site. Then sit on the roof and watch the cars fly under you into first chicane for free (your roof is higher than the fence and you can park within 20ft of the track!)...well you could last time I was there.

Failing that I would recommend a grandstand maybe Ascari. Monza is relatively flat and there is no spectator banking around the back of the circuit. So once a single line of spectators are in place you can only see if you are 8ft tall.

    MEGA atmosphere though...

Take a picnic and something to do then after race wait until 7pm and just drive straight out, no traffic.

    Variante Ascari...

Been there 7 times visiting the World Superbike.
Only 1020 km on the bike...

The camping right next the course is great to.
Well, no pools or whatever, but the mood...
