Get wit' the new millennium ... aftermarket wheels refresh an old look plus most of the factory wheels SUK! on the cars they came on
I concur. Some people would put Speedlines on a Model T to "modernise" it. But what's with that body kit on that poor 308/328 in your photo? Tragic.
A Red with Tan interior 328GTS parked in on the Via Pizza de' Pitti in Firenze Florence in the summer of 1985, it was one of the currators' I believe, and every day for a month I would walk by and stare. Now I figure the guy must have had some pull at the factory to get one so early in production. Not sure it was the best looking 3X8 that I have ever seen, but it provided the greatest impact on my teenage brain. Next time I am at my parents I will have to look through the slide collection from that summer and look for one of the many pictures my dad said I was wasting film on.
A few of the correct period aftermarket wheels are OK by me, but over all I am in agreement. Particularly when I see the 17 and 18 inch wheels on some of these 3x8 Fcars.
Now that's funny. Thanks. Though I own a GTS, I'm growing more and more fond of the GTB's. In the spirit of this thread, I too vote for the blue Euro 308 GTB. So there.
Thanks, Sorry for waiting, I'm pretty occupied these days. I haven't weighed the car yet. I'm hope to reach eventually the 1000 kg mark. I've planned Lexan doorwindows and lightweight interior doorpanels. The brembo's are from a Porsche 911 carrera 4. I just got some big reds of a Maranello wich are my next step with Subaru compdisks but it's my goal to keep the 16 inch wheels just like you mensioned.
Yep, lifting up my right foot beyond the 5500 rpm will deliver this kind of flamework. Would make a nice promotionpicture for Al Gore's campaign I guess.
Alway nice to see some period aftermarket wheels. I also could consider a nice set of coffinspokes or Gotti's as an alternative. The speedlines are timeless, especially with a lowered stance.
Hi Hans, that's exactly wat I mean. Nice blue flames. Also one of my favorite GT's that I have seen during the past years. Keep up the good revving. Regards, Marcel
Nice shot. But doing 60 on the highway here in FL will get you honked at and/or have brights flashed in your eyes (night). Actually had a truck lightly hit the rear of my Vette (thankfully not the 328) going 70 something, then he went around and floored it out of there (could have gone around the whole time).
Wondered the same. Considering the wheels were done factory, it would be interesting if the white stripe was ordered. Oddly enough the Dino wheels look great on the 308. I'd have to see more pics or see it in person to know what I think of the white stripe.
