Never actually seen an SR-24. (I've been out of the loop for awhile) I agree with you 100% about the BRS. I was making my judgements on looks alone, as I have no experience with any of the plastic playthings. Any type of aircraft ownership is going to forever be beyond my reach, but if I could have one, it would be the Piper 6XT. Make it my flying camper, and spend my weekends at places like Dutch John, UT., with a tent pitched in the grass! Dave
Cirrus makes the SR-20, and SR-22. . .......Not an SR-24 (yet) Sorry for the Typo. It was the SR-22 I saw, and reported about. Had half a page typed out for this reply, and lost it. But in summary.... Piper is great choice for camping. Watch out for the runways there in Dutch John. Two are grass in poor cond. with rodent holes the other is Asphalt, also reported as poor cond. with broken areas of asphalt. Might want to choose an alternate........ http://www.airnav.com/airport/33U On the good side, the fly fishing is reported to be excellent!
This has to be one of the most adavanced planes ever. Only two were made and one crashed due to a mid-air. At the time it was made it was the largest and fastest plane ever made. Mach 3+. You have got to love the six-pack and drooping wingtips. It rode its own shock wave.
