folks, has anyone used this low profile floor jack before: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007G83T16/ref=as_li_ss_tl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=2HRXELSEBIRLJ&coliid=I9B5U3DOTVU1R&psc=1&linkCode=sl1&tag=allgaragefloors-20&linkId=13c852f2a31d2a5d9ee9584c27e8b7e3 looking for something that can easily get under the speciale [with novitec springs]. thanks!
I have a Sunex low profile jack, looks identical to Arcan, it clears a Diablo or Viper ACR for reference.
I’ve been using this for years with my 360C. https://t.harborfreight.com/3-ton-low-profile-steel-heavy-duty-floor-jack-with-rapid-pump-61282.html Edit: mine has a foot pump for quick up action, looks like current model doesn’t.
I've got the 1 1/2 ton HF version love it, goes on sale often for much less. I'd get another in a heartbeat... has the footpump so maybe that was the one you were speaking of? https://www.harborfreight.com/15-Ton-Aluminum-Racing-Floor-Jack-with-Rapid-Pump-60569.html
I have the gray one for the garage, weights a ton. I’ll check the part number next time out. And the blue one for the trailer.
Image Unavailable, Please Login Gray one I have is a 2 ton. Item 68050. I have also have a Craftsman low profile but the HF has much more reach.
If you have to lift it/travel - 2.5/3 ton aluminum from Harbor Freight. If you're just moving it around the garage 2 ton long reach jack.
I love my AC Hydraulic jack. It has a height of just 3.1 inches, so it should fit under anything. It also goes almost 30" off the ground which is crazy high for a floor jack. Super high build quality, and very easy to move around. They also have a rubber saddle cushion to protect the underside of the car. I've stopped buying anything at Harbor Freight after the last few things I got there fell apart, certainly wouldn't get a jack from there.
I have an AC hydraulic jack. These jacks are made in Denmark and are likely the highest quality jack on the market. If you want the best then get an AC Hydraulic jack. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Don't forget you can get a 2x12 at Home Depot and drive up on it That's how I used to gain extra clearance on the 360. My 458 just barely clears my floor jacks, but I have to go super slow initially (until the suspension expands a bit, then I can get it all the way under the car). Ray
Does not have the quick one step push pedal to get the disc to reach the hold point quickly before jacking. Once you use that, can't do without it, For low use definitely need less than 3" and 2 ton lift with long stretch reach. Figure on four high quality hockey pucks too. Good luck.
I own the Bahco: http://www.bahco.com/en/p/extra-low-entrance-extra-long-reach/58-aa-ed-fc-48-72-e9-df-03-85-54-73-5f-0c-92-a6/ It's got a great valve for lowering - it's very easy to lower the car gently.
I have this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0047D2FWM/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The aluminum construction makes it much lighter than an equivalent steel jack. 3.6” of clearance. Jacks high very quickly, just a few handle raises. Falls when you turn the handle. You can get more clearance with a less heavy duty jack. Matt
I use 2 very small jacks of Volkswagon (could be of any brand), one on each side. Then apply a normal hydraulic jack (of which I also have 2) ... only way to go safe imo
Bought the Harbor Freight 1.5 ton jack that goes down to 3-1/8" and it just barely hits the side skirt on my lowered car. Looks like I need to make a run to the lumber store and pick up some 1" thick wood!
Return it if you can. Anything hydraulic from HF fails quickly. Or, even worse, breaks under stress. Matt
Scary! I also own these, which really help: AFAIK Bahco is somehow connected with Snap-On, so maybe they could help getting the jack to you? Or maybe they have the same style jack but banded as Snap-On.
AC dk20. Best jack I've ever had. Mine is 15 years old, and just recently needed a reseal kit. HF are crap; I had one that leaked after 2 weeks. I have an expensive, but very nice Brunnhoelz jack for the race car that stays in the trailer, but my favorite is the AC. Only drawback is they're heavy.
Have 2 here also, for many years, work perfect.....I know most people say they are crap, but worked out for me.
