The shootout thread was the inspiration for this one. A few to start with: Braveheart Gladiator Kill Bill Ben Hur--chariot race Many, many more out there.
Enter the Dragon - Bruce Lee, An oldie but a goodie! For that matter any of Bruce Lee's movies have great fight scenes. Excaliber
"They Live". The alley fight scene between Roddy Piper and that black guy. Holy crap, an epic battle, all to just put on a pair of sunglasses...
Enter the Dragon Kiss of Dragon Gladiators Last Samurai Star Wars: Attach Of Clone (Yoda & a bad guy) Stripes

hey! that was MINE. "my name is ash, and i am a slave." otherwise, the old jackie chan stuff. many many moons ago i used to watch it on SBS on a saturday night, and just marvel. i remember this like 5 minute scene between jackie and this dude all on a single shot where they kept just getting one another into an arm-lock. my jaw was on the floor watching that. really hate that he had to go hollywood to buy the rest of his country.
John Candy & girls doing mud wrestling. It was the first time I ever saw something like that as high school kid. Anyway, I put it as kidding manner. ryalex, I gotta agree w/ you on Shaolin Temple 1 & 2 (wait, in the US, it's called the title you referred) as Jet Li's best. KISS OF DRAGON was bit too much like Fist Of Northern Star in the ending, but the action-wise, it is the best he made in Hollywood. I also like Jackie Chen's DRUNK MASTER. Even though these fighting scenes are choreographed, it is amazing to see their moves.
Quentin Tarantino is releasing Jet Li's HERO and that looks like a winner! Check it out. http://www.apple.com/trailers/miramax/hero/ PD
Some of my favorite martial arts flicks Above The Law - Steven Seagal Out For Justice - Steven Seagal Show Down In Little Tokyo - Dolph Lundgren Bloodsport - Jean Claude Van Damme Kiss Of The Dragon - Jet Li I got some others but those are my favorite right off hand very realistic fighting no computer affects good movies besides just the fighting.
I've been waiting for that since last spring, my Chinese friends kept talking about this "greatest Chinese movie ever" that was coming out...
