Best "open air" car for under $60k

Well I was going to sit this one out since every car I buy needs to have a purpose (even if it is only one purpose), and if I were going to buy an open air car for under 60K, it would be either the 2019 (only) Miata with the Recaro option, a Boxster S, or a 4C. I might actually buy one of these cars in the next 30 days.

All of the above are better suggestions than this, but I love the way it looks. My money on a V6 5speed.

I have a 2009 911 (997.2) Carrera S Cab and I can highly recommend them as an open-air car. They're a great combination of modern and vintage -- they still have hydraulic (some would say telepathic) steering, are smaller than you'd think, have good power (385hp) for driving on public roads, are available with a 6 speed, have adjustable suspensions and throttle ("sport" modes), and you can do pretty much everything from a day at the track to a cruise for ice cream in them.

They're seriously good cars, especially in red.

 

The 504, both coupe and cab, is always a winner to me.

 

We shouldn't sleep on the 504. Not only does it look terrific, it is "the car that conquered Africa". Not at all a bad choice (even if African 504s were a little different than European ones)

 

WOW, that is one fantastic interior!
