He was performing a stunt at a show where he stands on his bike as it rolls (I believe this was the one) and he lost control and fell off, hit his head, and never came back around. They said if he would've just worn a helmet he'd probably have survived it. Here is a brief summary of his accident as well as his highlights: http://www.blogofdeath.com/archives/001149.html
man, that sucks. how unfortunate. thanks for the info. guess it was just a matter of time w/o a helmet, even though he did that trick all the time.

I'm watching an episode of Biker Build Off right now between Indian Larry and Billy Lane, I think they say RIP Indian Larry at the end.
Yeah, too bad about Indian Larry. He really was an interesting and talented guy. The accident happened in late August and we just had a memorial run for him two weeks ago. I really like the type of bike he built. They were much better than what OCC and many others build IMO. Where OCC just buys a frame, buys a motor, buys a trans, wheels, etc etc, Larry really built the bike. He was the real deal in a world of poseurs.
I don't care too much for these chopper bikes, but since I'm a welder/fabricator, I like watching these shows to see how they go about building these things. I've actually picked up a few tips and tricks, but otherwise, their techniques are pretty straight-forward and basic. I suppose the real point of the show is watching the interaction between Sr, Jr and Mike! I appreciate Indian Larry's building philosophy - focusing on the techincal aspects of the bike, instead of the artsy-fartsy part, although, even that came out in its own way in how the bike was built. With him gone, what happed to Gasoline Alley?
